Let's start this off with a blanket review/compliment for the guys over at "Grave Before Shave"--- What a great company. This is my 3rd beard balm from them and have yet to be disappointed. This stuff goes a very long way, one tin (depending on the size of your beard) should easily last you a month if not longer. The scent on this particular one is very clean and seems to last for 6-7 hours. It's consistency allows you to tame your loose hairs very well without giving the "hardened" feel I have experienced from other brands. The Gentlemen's Blend isn't my favorite scent so far but it's still very good. Perfect for when you don't want something to over bearing. Side note, this one is my girlfriends favorite so far. She has been spending a lot of time literally sniffing my beard. So take that as you will, but this one seems more preferred by the ladies lol.
Good hold, great smell. Had me walking around with all my bearded glory and proud. Felt great. I'll be getting this again. I only regret I'm pretty broke and can only afford to get a different balm when I run out of the old.
Effective beard-tamer, on short or long locks (and even adds a nice scent to a five-day stubble), and the smell is amazing. My wife absolutely loves it. She now loves the idea of my beard, mostly for the smell and the softness this adds. Masculine, on the sweeter side (but not in a fruit/floral way), vanilla, caramel and possibly some bourbon in the very back (but extremely latent...but that's ok, it smells great!)
This is my second favorite to Cigar Blend (which smells like pumpkin pie). You can't go wrong with this.
So first off it has become apparent to me that no-one knows how to describe the scent of the bourbon GBS. It is a sweeter smelling Talcum powder found at a traditional barber shop. Nowhere in any reviews did I find someone mention this. However, I like the clean/fresh cut traditional smell. It is pretty fragrant and is here to stay.
I know what you're thinking - 5 stars, is it perfect? While nothing is truly perfect, this balm is worthy of 5 stars.
The first thing I noticed when I took a pick of this balm out and began to melt it, something happened that never occurred with any other balms I tried - it began to moisturize my hands. I applied it to my beard and the best way I can describe it is that it immediately quenched its thirst. It doesn't have that weird stickiness to it like most balms leave. This remains on the beard but is still soft.
This product can compete with honest amish, and though that might be a lofty claim, for me, it is true.
The scent is great btw. Barber shop style with a slight touch of sweetness. Will buy again.

Always a great value. The scent is good but I know GBS has better scents. To each their own I guess. I would describe the smell as a clean softer smell. Personally I like the muskier ones. The texture and hold is soft to medium. If I had a shorter beard it would be great. But as my beard get thicker and longer I will have to move towards a stronger holding balm.
Very lightly scented balm. Can't say there is any hold. The oils/wax keep the frizzies down. It's one of the better scents. I DO NOT SMELL BOURBON.
If I have one complaint about GBS products, it's that their scents are mislabeled.
If you have a beard, you want this in it.
If you have a beard and a woman, she wants this in it.
If your woman has a beard, you don't want this in hers because her beard will look better than yours.
If you both have beards, you both want this in it.
So, just buy it already.

LOVE the scent of this, and as always, Grave Before Shave makes excellent products. It's pretty masculine but not overpowering, it's my favorite scent of theirs for certain.
Love this scent and this balm makes my beard feel great. Definitely worth the buy
