I felt frustrated. The complaints were starting to get to me, too. My girlfriend told me my beard was scratching her face. The last thing I wanted to do was get rid of the beard (or the girlfriend). I started out doing research, studying the formulas companies and innovators had used before. Pretty soon, I was obsessed. All my time went toward this new venture, all my thoughts devoted to engineering the perfect oil. Where I'm from, beards are a way of life: I was going to find a way to make this work one way or another.

Eventually, I had a formula that I was happy with. I gave samples to guys from work and the gym. They liked it and expressed interest in buying full-size bottles. While the oil wasn't yet perfect, I had reached an important milestone: people supported what I was doing and I seemed to be on the right track. However, my knowledge of chemistry was holding me back. I didn't know enough about the technical end of formulation. So, I began to take courses in cosmetic chemistry. Grave Before Shave Cigar Blend Beard Butter

I bought the 2 oz to give the scent Vanilla / Cigar a try. It's. very, very light on cigar if at all present. The butter or balm is similar to Fisticuff's mustache wax Lavender & Bay Rum scents are awesome - which I highly recommend - but it
s not wax. It does need to be slightly softened though. Unlike Honest Amish Beard Balm - does not hold my beard in place - which is quite moist, this is stiffer. I've gone through the gamut on what to use on my beard including Honest Amish Beard oil and Bluebeards Original Unscented Beard Saver the Beard Oil Alternative ( do not recommend that for any reason ). This is the one that seams to smell good, not overpowering but pleasant and is functional. It actually keeps my beard soft, not dripping wet (damp though) and keeps in place.

The 2 oz aluminum tin does not close too well, but this 4 oz. screws on so its a no brainer.

Again, if I have some trouble keeping beard hairs in place or I want it to look finished, I always use their mustache wax.

Used for the first time and I an hooked. Never have u had my beard or goatee be manageable to be straight and not tight and pulled back unless it was one big puff ball😞 until now. I love all the GBS products I gave and am glad to add more to my daily usage along with my new GBS brush. Love my facial hair and this allows me to love it even more.

This stuff is fantastic! I've been a fan or Grave before Shave balms, but this stuff is IMO nicer than the balms. Its like a mix between Balm and oil, but it keeps your beard soft. 5/5 will definitely be buying again.

I’ve been using the oil & balm combo (which is great) but as many have said the beard butter is the best of both worlds.
Much easier to apply with a decent hold when shaping. I still use the oil/balm combo but save it for the weekends. Cleaning off hands is easier than the oil as well as less comes off when touching your beard after application.
The scent lasts longer (than the oil/balms) & when I first apply it the vanilla smell is great, after some time goes by (6-8 hours later) I can smell the cigar portion more.

This smells amazing!!! And smells great all day. Don’t worry it doesn’t smell like a cigar. Will definitely buy again!

It is a great beard wax. Leaves a good shine but also a tid bit greasy. The grease goes away in 10-30 min. Far less scent than expected. When they say blank slate they mean "hair wax" smell, and it is faint. What is left in my hands, I add my hair product too, and finish styling my hair. Excited to try our different smells.

This is one of the best products I have ever used. You can apply it onto your skin as a moisturizer, or on your hair to keep it in place. I usually prefer a matte finish for my hair, but this gives more of a shiny look, which isn't too overbearing and looks pretty natural.
I'm amazed that it's taken this long for a company to develop a product that works on all parts of the body and hair. Rather than having separate products for your hands, feet, fingers, toes, arms, face, body, hair, etc. Of course you don't wanna rub this all over your body. But it's great for your face, hands, head and hair. I don't have a beard anymore, but I'm sure this is what I'd be applying on it to polish it up and keep it slick.
The ingredients feel natural, don't leave a sticky residue and washes off easily if needed. But that's the beauty, you don't have to wash your hands after using it, just apply the excess onto any dry areas as needed. Also, this one has almost no scent which is also something I prefer. But going by the quality, i'm curious to try Spiced Citrus, since I feel it should be pretty good as well.
