4/25/17: First impression, was great! I gor an email from mountaineer brand when my package shipped (even though amazon tells me) it was nice because thats when i realized that i wasn't buying from a 3rd party vendor i was buying from the manufacturer of the product. It came as pictured with the bag and all plus a coupon code for my next purchase. This is my first beard product as i have been fighting with it to grow, but its growing slowly and has become pretty scratchy at times so my co worker recommended getting oil and stuff to help care for it. The smell of the timber is great. I just received it today but will update after i use it for a little bit and get a feel for it.
**4/27/17: The shampoo is great, just 2 drops and it lathers up great. A little really does goa long way and it smells great. The oil has a great scent also, but with my profession i cant speak for how long the scent sticks around because the jet fuel is overwhelming. So far great product. Have not used the balm yet because my beard is still growing and filling in.
Update: 7/12/17
The oil, balm and shampoo are still amazing! I would recommend changing the brush after maybe 2 or 3 months maybe. Seemed to hold onto all the oils and other dirt and caused some irritation on my skin but a new brush fixed it.
Well I ordered the kit in Dec 2016 after looking at the reviews. It was not my typical brand but I am overseas and shipping was a issue. For that reason I went with Mountaineer and I can tell you I am impressed. The package came to me within ten days which is a plus being overseas. It was all packaged as it should and looked great. When I opened it the beard oil had cracked and was leaking which was not ideal but the rest was great. I called the company directly and told them what happened and within minutes they said they would not send more beard oil but a entire kit. Within ten days I received another kit. Their customer service was amazing, it actually is nice to see someone stand behind the product and really go out of their way to make the customer happy. I have been using the oils and balm for about two weeks and I can tell you that it is far better than my old brand. Everyone loves the scent and my beard has never been so soft. The product is great and the customer service is even better. I know I will not look any further for beard products. Great job guys!!
I bought this for a friend of mine for his birthday. One of those "luxuries" that a low to no-maintenance guy won't always get for himself. The next time I saw him, he was so excited to have me see and feel how much smoother his beard looked and how much softer it felt! He also loved the scents and I did too...earthy and masculine --- not like these new hipster cigar and bourbon scents (to each their own, but in my opinion, yuck to both the scent and pretentiousness of it...maybe more for the man-bun type). Anyway, the scents of these were a turn-on, without being overbearing...like if he wanted to wear cologne I don't think it would make a weird combo, because you almost have to get into the beard to really smell it (which, hey, that's another plus!). It came together in a nice, complete gift set and everything was of high quality. I loved it, and more importantly, so did he!
I'm not a fake profile, nor have I been compensated for any reviews...in fact, the reason I take the time to review purchases when I can is due to the fact that I find other honest reviews helpful and am tired of all the fake reviews that have polluted this site. I've been a beardsman for a very long time. I've tried a ton of beard products, and over the last few years I have even made my own beard balms and beard oils. Mountaineer Brand is one of the best company's on the market !
For people who dont like long reviews I will sumerize my opinions for you. ( All Natural beard care, larger amounts, a great price, and they do the job.)
My recent purchase was the beard kit with the WV Timber scent. First thing I look at is price. Not only is the price very reasonable, but the amount of beard balm, oil and wash in the kit is awesome. Most company's only give you 1 Oz options, Mountaineer provides 2 Oz with balms and oils and 8 oz of wash. I enjoy the WV Timber scent. It's a woodsy and earthy aroma that fades pretty quickly. I would prefer the oil to be a little stronger in scent or last longer, but that is my personal preference. The balm has a more dominant eucalyptus scent which I like as well. Both do a great job at hydrating my beard and skin. The balm is a very soft butter like consistency that melts into oil and absorbs well. Try the heavy duty Balm for more of shaping quality. I purchased this as well because I have a very curly beard and this helps it stay in shape on certain days that I need it to. The heavy duty Balm has a citrus scent. The beard wash is awesome. The scent is alot like the balm but a little earthy. I usually use kirks or grandpa's pine tar, but this was a nice alternative.
The biggest thing for me is the ingredients. You have probably heard it from other beardsmen. If you cant pronounce it ! Don't use it ! I must agree, I only use all natural beard care products and you have it here.
I've seen some complaints about the brush in other reviews, loss of bristles or being too rough. I didn't have any problems at all. In fact I found the brush to be much softer then other beard brushes I have, and no loss of bristles.
Again you get a quality all natural beard care product at a great price. In no way am I getting paid for this review. I just think Mountaineer Brand is a solid company. Cheers !
Purchased this kit in Timber scent for my husband who had recently gone from I very trimmed beard to wearing it fuller. Was not enjoying his scratchy kisses. The timber scent is a pretty accurate cedar smell with a hint of fir, which I find sexy. His beard is much neater looking and softer after only a couple uses. He likes the look and feel of his beard and says the smell is “alright,” which is the highest compliment he gives a scent. Will definitely repurchase when the items run out. Considering gifting the unscented version to my father.

Started using this product a few weeks ago. Starting with the beard shampoo: it smells great and cleans great. Other products like soap and shampoo leaves the beard feeling dry and brittle, but not with the shampoo. The Oil: Another great smelling product. After never using beard oil before, as long as I have a beard I will be using beard oil. It smells good and leaves the beard feeling soft and smooth. Both the shampoo and oil have a nice manly pine type of scent.. And the balm: The balm has a more citrus scent. It is the icing on the cake at the end of the routine. Definitely helps with shaping the beard and keeping straggling hairs down reducing the frequency of trimming. The last thing is the brush: it is soft. My beard is relatively thick so soft bristles don't get anywhere near close enough. I viewed the brush as a bonus, not a necessity so I don't feel disappointed.
I've been reading reviews and doing some research to see if there's a "better" product to try out and I don't think there is one. This does everything I need and want it to do, and it smells good. Going to stick with this for a while.
I'm was going to give this product a four star but their customer care deserves a five star! The company confirmed shipping alongside Amazon's notifications. They reached out after receiving the product and I forgot to respond to the first email but they followed up again with a second one checking to make sure I loved the product. The brush is not bad, a bit soft but I don't mind it too much. The shampoo seems like it's going to last a while and works well. The oil and balm work great! I've only had the product a few days but I'm already seeing results and so are others. Beard looks cleaner, fuller, and healthier. The Timber scent is okay, friends say it smells great. I think it's just my preference. I mentioned this when replying to their second email and they are sending me samples of other scents so I can find one I really enjoy. I'll buy four star products from a business with five star customer care over five star products with lower customer service. Some of the best I've experienced.
I have been using these products for about 4 months religiously and get compliments daily on how healthy and nice my beard looks. I use the wash about every 2 days and usually pick the oil or the conditioner wax to use for the day when I get ready in the morning. Sometimes I oil before bed and use the brush but no doubt about what everyone says about that brush falling apart is true. It still gets the job done but not a deal breaker because the actual products are so good.
I'm giving this wonderful company 5 stars because I got the item and the fragrance was not well received i'll say. They sent me samples and allowed me to pick one I was satisfied with. That WAY beyond the call of duty! Highly recommend this amazing company and product! If I could give 10 stars I would.
After doing some research about products for my beard I chose the Mountianeer brand
I've used all the product except for the balm so far and after 3 days of using it my long goatee feels like it's healthy again. When I ride my motorcycle the wind beats the hell out of my goatee but now after using the wash and oil my goatee is still soft with no tangles. The brush is great and adds a nice touch to the package along with the burlap bag. I haven't used the balm yet. I ordered the Timber scent and my wife loves it and the scent is not over powering at all. I will definitely be a returning customer. I hate writing reviews but when I believe in something hell ya I'll make sure people know about Mountaineer products.
