Magic Beard Balm Leave-in Conditioner by Mountaineer Band | Natural Oils, Shea Butter, Beeswax Nourishing Ingredients | 2-oz (WV Timber Scent)

Its the first time I purchased this Beard balm from Mountaineer. I have been using it for about 4 months and really like it.
I like the scent a lot. The timber smells like freshly cut pine or fir. The scent fades in 10 minutes or so. It does give my beard a bit of a shine, without it being greasy. It does give some hold or control to my beard but its probably not what you want if you really need massive control. I am thinking of trying the Heavy duty beard balm in the same scent, but I would buy the regular balm again. My beard is a good four or more inches in length. What I like about this stuff is that it gives my beard a bit of hold but at the same time lets it do its own thing, and yet it looks good.
I had been using Honest Amish beard wax , that's all I've used before this, other than olive oil, coconut oil or hair gel at times. The Honest Amish beard wax does offer very good hold and shaping ability, and for that I liked it, but I am tired of the fragrance. Also again the balm gives a bit of shine, the wax or at least the Honest Amish beard wax does not. Their balm may be good when it comes to that, but I don't know.

Great product, does well at it's job. My only complaint is that the first application seemed to require a lot of massaging in just to get into my beard, it apparently preferred to sit on my beard and make it itch, because of the oil. The second application was no problem. Next time, however, I think I'm going to buy the WV Timber scent, because I mistook comments about the woodsy smell for the original. Which is not woodsy at all. Has a rather citrusy scent that is kinda strong as a smell for a few hours. The smell is comparable to a citrus candle. Pleasant at first, but sickening after a while.

Excellent product; I went to App State, so I've been loyal to Mountaineer Brand for years now. Finally have enough of a beard to start using balm, and boy...I've been missing out.

Smell: If you want your beard to smell vaguely like pine trees with hints of wood and eucalyptus, this is your balm. Not overpowering, but definitely a very welcome aroma.

Practicality: The main benefit so far has been for shaping my beard easier, and making it look darker than it did before. This balm seems to help with taming stray hairs; it's not like hair gel or anything but it will improve the look of your beard.

Amount: I anticipate this lasting for about 5-7 weeks, maybe more.

I’ve been using the Timber flavor for the last few months and it does most of what I want. (Minor beard shaping and softening) I decided to try this scent because I was getting board of the other. I’m sure glad I did. The texture is completely different. It’s so much thicker than the Timber. Imagine using coconut oil. It’s stiff and as soon as the heat from your hand touches it it becomes liquid. Great for a bit of moisturizing but doesn’t do much in the way of assisting beard shaping. The citrus acts almost more like a beeswax. It’s hard when scraping out of the tin and instead of melting into a liquid, it spreads like room tempatur butter. It’s so much mor helpful in the beard shaping department. Don’t expect hair gel or anything but if you’ve got a beard that lays mostely the same way all the time, except stray hairs an such this really does the trick. Great smell too!

If you are a big guy like me, be fair warned. The clove oil in this stuff smells exactly like Thanksgiving ham. Really good ham too. Other than that, I will be buying it again. My beard is darkening and is softer to the touch too.

I’ve ordered my second tin with the West Virginia Timber scent. I like it. It’s affordable and helps take care of my beard. I wish it had just a little more hold than it does to tame my crazy ginger beard. This second tin doesn’t smell as much like the WV Timber compared to the first one but I also tried a tin of lavender scented balm from another company in between. Definitely happy to be back with Mountaineer Brand. Keep it up, guys!

A great product for keeping those li'l hairsies healthy. It'll probably (magically) make you look just like that fella on the tin also, right?

The scent is as described - alpine, timber-y, yet not too heavy. I have a burgeoning beard and I like this product for it!

A fair warning - overapplication of this in your beard can result in some shine. It's not a beard oil, or a styling product however. The best use for it is to add some slight weight to your beard and keep it healthy. That's what I bought it for, and that's what I got!

Ultimately though, doesn't half the choice come down to your significant other? She wasn't impressed by the smell right from the can (probably just a bit heavy), but after application she thoroughly enjoys it. I know it's partially preference, but hey, so far the lady loves it.

Apply to your beard for many kisses.

Magic Mountaineer leave in beard balm is a good light weight balm to nourish your beard with. Natural made in U.S.A. product, the Timber smell is fantastic. Smells like fir or pine scent but not too strong. Balsam fir oil is actually good for colds and allergies, I have allergies and this works great. The other oils contained help with prevention of skin flakes and dryness. You leave it in and forget it. For more coarse thicker beards I'd get the thick balm.

I tried a beard oil and two beard balms and I loved this one way over the other products. One of the beard balms was too thick and felt awkward on my beard, and the oil was thin and oily and not my favorite. This balm is a pleasure to put on every morning and makes my beard look amazing, I've gotten several compliments from people about my beard after using this. Very happy with this product

Fantastic stuff. This is my first beard balm I’ve tried and it does exactly what I wanted, leaving it itch free and very soft. The scent is perfect as well, nice subtle citrusy scent with a hint of pine or something. Fades away after about 15-20 min. I ordered the original and will be ordering again once I run out. I imagine this container lasting a month or so if i use it daily. For $5 this deal is by far the best of any beard balms on amazon or even In stores. Thanks Mountaineer!!
