I like this product very much!
This is going to be a detailed review on each item in this kit. Since they all smell the same, I am going to mention that the fragrance isn't pleasing to me. It's woodsy but I smell oils on terms of food oils. Like almond oil, walnuts mixed with the forest. It might be because there is seed and Shea nut oil in the ingredients. I personally am not a fan of earthy smells, but at least the ingredients are 100% natural. This stuff is super healthy for your skin so you don't need to worry about synthetic chemicals. I love what these products offer. but the smell is the only thing that gets to me. I'm sure people will like the smell, make sure you're a fan of earthy/woodsy smells. Now on with the products..
*Beard Shampoo:
The shampoo is absolutely excellent for cleaning your beard without drying it out. The shampoo is not thick whatsoever, it has the consistency of water, and it will pour out quick. You only need a little more than half your palm. It lathers nicely and it really cleans your beard. It's super gentle on your face and the scent is as I mentioned above. You will notice when you wash it off, that your beard will be grippy. That's because oils have been cleaned off. Which is the next step, applying the beard oil (optional).
*Beard Oil:
This beard oil comes in a plastic little bottle with a pump clicker. You only need 2 full pumps in your hands creating a little more than a dime sized amount. Rub your hands together and apply directly in the skin as well as on the hairs. It will soften your beard and eliminate dryness quite nicely. Perfect for using out of the shower or when you wake up.
*Beard Balm:
The beard balm is in a metal tin can which is stylish and classic in my opinion. Scrape the balm with the back of your thumb until it has covered at least half of your nail. Rub your hands together to warm it up, then apply it to your beard as if you're trying to style it. It has a light hold which can tame the hairs as well as having ingredients that soften your hairs. I would use it if you're going out trying to look nice, it makes your beard look a little less crazy.
Overall this kit gets the job done which you should expect. I do love the kit and use it, the only downfall for me is the scent which I would like to have changed. Some people have different opinion on scents, and this is mine. You might like the smell, so don't ignore this item because of what I say about the smell. This can make a perfect gift to anyone with a beard, and Christmas is coming up! You should give it a try, and I hope this review is helpful! I did get this product sent to me so I can review it, the review is very much my own opinion.
Great stuff for my beard
First of all, presentation! I purchased this for my husband who is trying to grow a beard. The products look hip and masculine. And smell nice. He loves everything in this kit!
