First up, I am *not* a professional - I've just cut my own hair for years, a habit left over from the service when I had a lot more hair than I do now. With that out of the way, THESE CUT SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE LESSER WAHLS! They have a higher-end motor that cuts quicker and with less effort. Bottom line, I can't speak to their use by professionals, but I can highly recommend them for amateurs that want a great clipper for the money.
Serious upgrade over the normal walmart clippers i have used. I have thick hair and this took far fewer passes in each spot to get the cut i wanted. I will never go back to the bargain price clippers.
pro
comes with the good guides that clip on, not the magnetic ones
cuts through thick hair
stays cool
no battery
tapper feature is fun
con
price (but worth it)
loud
needed to buy a few extra guides for longer cuts
fairly certain it came to me used, not new... (some scratches on it, maybe roughed up in warehouse)
required to oil every use
blades came misaligned (comes with instructions to fix)
Holly cow WHAT A DIFFERENCE between this and the top end clippers that I purchased at Target for about the same price - you wont be disappointed
As a mom of three boys, I needed a reliable, quality clipper. I'm not a professional hair stylist, but am big on quality products and wanted a clipper that would last a long time vs. paying crazy amounts for hair cuts each month. I did a lot of research on good sets of clippers and came across this one. This Wahl has been a great replacement for the cheaper-quality set I previously purchased at our local big-box store. It is heavier, but seems to allow more control, cuts precisely, and I'm more confident while cutting their hair. My husband also has noticed the difference. I would highly recommend.
These are great. Makes for shorter work of haircuts. Would recommend. It has "shaved" time off my husband's hair cuts. :-)

Great shaver. It certainly cuts through long hair in 1 pass. Doesn't leave strands ect that cheap wahl shaver does. It is very heavy and feels quality. 4 stars as only came with 3 shaver guides.
Love it. Nice and weighted and is the exact same one my sister in law uses in her salon. After borrowing hers, I loved it and had to have it. Works like a charm. No need to go over the same area repeatedly nor worry about rogue hairs that stand taller than the rest. The cut is precise and quick. Just need to be careful as this buzzer's goal in life is to cut any hair that gets in its way. So it is not forgiving at all if you mess up!
So far so good. Quite and concise.
I purchased this clipper to replace an old WAHL clipper that, after many years, finally quit working. This one is heavier but seems to be better quality too. I am not a professional hair cutter but for over thirty years have been cutting my family's hair. I have used it several times and I'm very satisfied.
I've had this about a month and I use it once a week to buzz my own hair. Its very similar to an older wahl trimmer I had, but the majority of the case is metal, which I wanted specifically because I dropped the last trimmers and the case brought because it was cheap plastic. There is still some plastic on the top of the casing, but it feels more solid than a fully plastic case. It works well and my old wahl guides fit perfectly. It does vibrate more than my old one but only a little bit more - probably because of the metal case transferring the vibration, so I guess its a tradeoff on metal versus plastic, but the vibration isn't that bad. Its not perfectly ergonomic, as it can be a little hard to hold when cutting your own hair, but I guess its not designed for that, its designed to be held at angles when you are cutting another person's hair. The power switch is a little annoying as it switches in the opposite direction than I was used to and you have to very deliberately switch it, but it is a good toggle-like switch that does seem solid like it will last. In general its a much sturdier model than the typical store bought model, which is exactly what I wanted. I also don't like the name - Senior? Who you calling senior young man?, why I'll beat your ....
