I bought this striking viking comb and a very similar comb by HAWATOUR, the striking viking comb was a few dollars cheaper than the one by HAWATOUR witch advertised as being made of sandal wood.. I bought them both to side by side them.. And, So I don't know what sandal wood exactly smells like, but it's quite apparent that they both smell exactly the same which would lead me to believe they are the same except for the price difference. They side by side are cut EXACTLY the same shape, the hardware holding everything together is exactly the same, same height, same length, overall nice pocket comb for whatever your needs are. No complaints, just settle observation to share with other consumers debating to buy or not to buy the more expensive one of the 2. I'd say save the couple bucks and buy this one by striking viking
Out of all the gifts my viking received this Yule season this comb was his hands down fave! He loves the smell of the fresh sandalwood, reminds him of his first skjǫldr from his raiding days. Sadly, he misplaced his beloved comb and we can not have a sad viking moping around the village. So happily I just ordered two more, Odin forbid, he lose another. From one shieldmaiden to another looking for the perfect gift, look no further you've found it! SKOL!

I purchased the Striking Viking and the Hawatour folding combs. I like both very well, design is almost identical, i am including side by side comparison images as shown in the last collage photo. I will note the differences here:
Hawatour has a slightly more polished almost varnished finish. Hawatour hinge is slightly looser. Back od the comb is less rounded. The design to the hinge is more rounded on the Hawarour. The box the hawatour arrives in is larger and sturdier.with fitted velvet insert.
It works like a comb and doesn't catch too badly in my curly beard. Sure there is a the occasional tangle that hurts a bit when pulled, but if you have curly beard hair then you are familiar with the issues around using a comb instead of a brush. I just can't fit a brush in my pocket next to my wallet like I can this. Also, the smell! The wood smells so pleasant that it makes it a pleasure to comb my beard. It is nice to look neat and have it be a pleasant experience.
This is a wonderful product. Folded it fits perfectly in my pocket. It unfolds easily, and stays open just as you would want it. I had read all the advantages of using a wooden comb for beard grooming -- it's all true and confirmed from the moment I got this comb and began using it. It's now a permanent part of my daily beard grooming routine. One of the nicest aspects of this comb: when you comb the beard after using beard oil or beard balm the comb absorbs any extra oil and helps distribute it evenly through the beard; then, when you close the comb, it still retains some of the oil so that you are distributing oil again when you comb the beard later in the day -- and, since it's a folding comb, the extra oil stays on the comb and doesn't get on your pocket. How to care or your wooden comb
1. Water is your enemy. Use beard oil for routine cleaning and maintenance. If oil is not present, use a damp cloth.
2. Tighten screw with a screwdriver if it becomes loose.

Just received my Striking Viking folding beard and mustache comb, and it's a very nice product. It feels high quality in my hand. I don't feel like it's going to break when I run it through my thick beard. If I had any suggestions to make it better it would probably be:
1. The screw was a little tight at first. I had to pry the comb open pretty forcefully.
2. I wish that it would have come with a nice carrying pouch or something. I know it folds, but I think aesthetically it would look nicer in a pouch of some sort. It says it comes with a "carry case" but that's really just the cardboard box it's packaged in.
Other than that, this is a very good product that I look forward to adding to my beard care routine for maintenance throughout the day.
This is a pretty sweet little comb. The action on the fold is smooth enough that a flick of the wrist will bring out the comb or fold it back up. It looks beautiful. It works great, of course. No static. My only complaint is that I would have liked a more rounded finish on the non-comb/housing part. The edges and corners are slightly rounded, so they're not sharp or anything, but why are they even there? I would personally have preferred a completely rounded finish with no corners or edges. I'm slightly tempted to try sanding off the edges and corners and then finishing with an oil, but I also don't want to risk ruining the comb. All in all, this is a very nice comb.
Where I work it gets very windy sometimes, so often when I go outside to lunch or check my phone, I'll come back into the building with my hair messed up from the wind. This was a great solution to my situation. I take this to work with me and just comb my hair in the bathroom when my hair gets messed up. I took it traveling with me, too, and after a hike before I went to lunch I just comb my hair in my car. It's helped out a lot.
The wood feels soft in my hair and combs it better than the plastic comb I have at home.
I did drop it once on the hardwood floor and the screw become a little loose. It started to make some weird noises in my pocket because of that. It took me all of 5 seconds with the screwdriver to re-tighten the screw, though, and I haven't have an issue with it since.
Used this for a month and so far it works well. The combs teeth are gentle on my skin and they distribute the oils very well. I love the folding design because it prevents extra rubbish from getting between the teeth whilst the comb is in my pocket. The screw does come loose from time to time, but you can use your hand to tighten it.
I already had the Wooden Beard Comb and Case and loved it, but I needed something easier to handle when I'm riding around on my motorcycle. The Folding Wood Comb fit the bill perfectly. I can toss it in my tank bag, saddle bags, or jacket pocket, and I know it won't get damaged and it will be easy to find. The folding handle makes it easy to handle with my gear on. I bumped my helmet one time and dropped the smaller beard comb because I had my gloves on, and it (of coarse) landed in dirt. Two different combs for different purposes, and both awesome for combing my beard.
