Bristles on the brush really hit the sweet spot of being stiff enough to exfoliate but soft enough to not feel like you're brushing with steel wool. Not sure I would recommend it to someone with a really heavy beard due to the compact size of the brush head, but I have a full beard that I keep trimmed fairly short and this brush is perfect for me.
