Well, I'm very new at cutting my own hair.I am just a frugal girl, and decided to do it myself. I have been cutting my hubby's hair for a few years now. I have learned how to buzz my in the back with the proper size comb, and I
am learning to cut the top as well. I wanted to thin out the sides where the top met the back and sides/bottom, and
bought these shears. At first, I was a little scared to try it, but I gathered the courage. I liked what I saw after trying them
on the sides, and forgot to stop. I went a little crazy and have a short spot, shorter than the rest, but it's ok. It will grow
back. I am learning, and we learn from our mistakes, right? ;) I do not have any other shears to compare these with, but they are very nice and they got the job done. I would recommend them to anyone....even to ones with more experience than me!
This is a great tool for tending to my Coton De Tulear puppy's hair as well as my hair. It's very sharp and are a perfect weight for me. The steal seems like it will hold the sharp edge for a long time. I'v only used them 3 times and find them easy to keep clean. I only wish these cam with a cloth pouch as other sheers do for storage purposes. I recommend these thinning sheers to anyone in need of a quality inexpensive pair . Last comment I'd like to share is with the rubber insert being removable it's an added bonus as I took the one out for my thumb making it the perfect size for keeping my thumb in place as I use them. As always I shall try and update this review after I've used them for about 6 months.
Extremely sharp! Made my hair choppy and messy for the pixie cut I wanted to do. Mine wasn't covered in oil like some of the other reviews. Very good if you want to think out thick hair or give texture. Just be careful because they are sharp and I ended up accidentally cutting my finger on it when it rested on the blade by accident, they also can cut a lot of hair so use wisely.
These are excellent quality, heavy and tough thinning shears. It says in the description "no more haircuts!" Well, that's really not too far from the truth. I've been using these for years to cut my own hair - the length and way I like it. It's really hard to mess up a haircut when using these, but I'm sure one could with enough effort. Adjustable tension/strength is a nice touch.
Sort of like me Italian barber used to use from time to time.
Wifey has never cut hair before, but I'm looking good!
These are so inexpensive and a great value.

I have extremely long and thick hair but hate going to get it cut so I usually just trim it myself. I desperately wanted to get it thinned so I decided to look for thinning shears like my old hair dresser used and I found these! Very very happy with this purchase. Just as I put in my heading, this is sharp! I absolutely LOVE this! It's easy to handle! Careful if you try to swipe off the hairs that may cling onto these! Other than that, this was a great buy!
