This kit has sample sizes of beard oil, shampoo, and balm. That's a good thing as it allows you to experiment without having large amounts of unused product should any be unacceptable for you.
My main negative is the smell/perfume in the shampoo. It's a musk smell - I absolutely do not like musk. That's out. Fortunately it's a rather small bottle so there's little waste by not using it.
The oil is practically odorless, having only a hint of an oil smell that quickly dissipates after application. The balm also smells "clean" with no obvious odor.
The scissors are a good quality and work well. They're a bit smaller than my regular pair, a professional scissor I was gifted when I started my beard decades ago, but do a good job. Easy to maneuver and get to that single hair that needs a trim. Be careful as they're also pointed enough to prick if you're careless (the package description says they're blunt - they are not).
The wooden comb is nice but I don't need this as my regular comb works just fine for my beard. I have no idea what the boar's bristle brush is used for. It's similar to the brush I use for polishing my shoes, but smaller.
The oil works well and seems to be absorbed a bit more quickly than other, similar, beard oils I've tried. It's a nice, heavy, glass bottle with a standard "eye" dropper.
I have no use for the balm so haven't tried this product.
Mine came in a nice, but useless, presentation tin. All the items were tightly packed in a foam block, no individual product boxes as shown, and there was no storage bag. It's no loss as these products would normally sit on the sink or in a cabinet and the bag would just get in the way.
Overall, this is a nice starter kit for someone just growing a beard or who's never used beard grooming products before.

One of the toughest things is keeping a beard looking neat and soft.
This kit does attempt to help with that process by putting all you need in one place.
+ Scissors cut well and are easy to use.
There are some jobs that require a manual touch and an electric device just won't cut it (pun intended). Having a pair of scissors really helps gets to some of those individual strands that need trimming.

> There is no discernable scent. This may be a pro or con for some, but I didn't notice any aroma. Pro, is I've had brands where their oil and their balm are conflicting scents, but none of that here.
-- The wash/conditioner is meh as it is a small bottle (I guess meant for traveling) and the ingredients contain propylene glycol. Darn. That is one of the ingredients that should be avoided according to many articles over the years.
+ Again, no scent on the wash/conditioner.
+ The balm is another form of oils and beeswax and shea butter.
+ Again no scent to this product, so it can be mixed/matched with other products and not have a conflict with the aroma.
+ Good thick, soft bristle brush that works well with managing a beard.

Instead of piecemealing a kit yourself you can find a very good one here.
As a beardy guy, I discovered pretty quickly that growing might mean you save time on shaving, but you put even more time into caring for your beard. I've tried a lot of moisturizers, beard creams, etc.
Overall, I really like this kit.
Aroma is great. It's present but mild; noticeable without being overpowering. And it's a good, clean, manly scent.
Functionally, also good. They do the job, they don't irritate my skin or make me break out, and they're not gross or sticky. I've had better beard creams and oils (and paid a lot for them), but these are certainly good enough and the price seems reasonable.
Presentation-wise, it comes in a nice metal tin and would make a nice gift set. But even if you keep it for yourself, it's nice to have everything all together in a single box that you keep in a drawer, rather than hunting for a bunch of different pots and bottles. (Although, in the past, I've had metal tins start to rust, so I don't keep them on the sink counter anymore.)
I want to comment specifically on the wooden comb, too. Combined with the beard oil, this is great. The wood itself is able to soak up a bit of excess oil, so unlike a plastic comb which gets oily and greasy, the wooden comb stays pretty clean for a longer time, and it has nice, heavy teeth that go through coarser beard hair without getting tangled.
I love – that is LOVE! – this beard-grooming kit. Each grooming product (shampoo, beard oil and beard balm) is rich and concentrated so that you needn’t use a large amount of any to get good results. These products really do dramatically reduce breakage, improve manageability of facial hair and lend a youthful luster to the beard. The comb that comes with the set straightens any tangles if I allow my beard to grow long as I occasionally do while the soft brush does the same when I keep it short. The beard balm keeps the occasional unruly facial hair flat and in place but isn’t greasy or otherwise uncomfortable on the face. Having all these items in one compact kit that doesn’t take much space, and which is nice-looking to boot, is a genuine convenience, too; it certainly beats the hell out of having several different products in several different places when it comes time to do the day’s grooming. Wish I ordered this when I first decided to do the beard thing. Makes life a look easier and me a good deal better looking as well.
So this Beard Growth Grooming Kit includes sample sizes of beard oil, shampoo, and balm. I love kits that include samples! I actually liked the smell of the shampoo, nothing overpowering. The oil and the balm really didn't have a smell to me, they just smelled clean and that dissipated pretty quickly. I don't like how small the scissors are, but they work great and seem to be a pretty decent quality. Durable enough! I have been using for quite awhile with no issues. I actually love the wooden comb and the brush. I use the brush daily on my toddler because he loves it. Doesn't let me brush his hair with anything else (I don't know why, haha.) Really all the product works really well and I'd use any of it again and will! It came really nicely packaged in a tin. This would make a wonderful gift for anyone you know with a beard.

This kit is fantastic! I was really impressed by the quality of the products included in this set, along with the variety of everything included. This kit really does contain everything your guy could need to take care of his beard/mustache. I gave it to my son, who is working on growing out his "winter beard" for the next few cold months. Having specific products for beard care is essential according to my son in law who has a full beard. The brush is of great quality and scissors are sharp and work well. Shampoo products dry out facial hair so beard soap, oil, etc. is what is needed. Since I would never use shampoo to wash my face it makes sense to have beard specific products.
My significant other was really impressed with the kit. They got it right. The only thing that has fragrance is the cleanser for the shower. The oil and balm are scentless as they are right under his nose, so to speak. He likes the scissors, but said they need to be broken in, which I understand since I use tweezers. As for me, I like how soft his vandyke is. (Vandyke, think Evil Mr. Spock). He only wears one for the winter every year (and there's more gray than ever).
