Kenra Dandruff Shampoo, 10.1-Ounce (2-Pack)

Kenra Dandruff Shampoo, 10.1-Ounce (2-Pack)

I've used Kenra on and off for a few months now. I bought it back in Feb 2017 when I had a bad case of dandruff. Seeing that I usually have brightly colored hair (ranging from purple to indigo, hot pink to red), finding a dandruff shampoo that will not leach off color was paramount. The first time I used it, I noticed that scalp itchiness went way down. While I still had flaking, my scalp didn't feel as tight as before. While bright hair color will always leach with every wash, Kenra didn't seem to be making it worse. It did take a few more uses to minimize the flaking. It took a few weeks of use (about 2-3 times a week) for flaking to get under control. I only use it sporadically now when I have small flare-ups. All in all, it works, albeit slowly on really dry scalp. If it's a minor flare-up, one or two uses is usually enough to clear it up. Must always remember to shake the bottle before use tho!

I purchased this for my wife as it had been recommended to her to help with the itching associated with her scalp psoriasis. I does help significantly with calming that itch. This would be a five star review if it were not for the fact that although this shampoo claims to be gentle, she says that her hair is so stripped of natural oils after she uses it that it squeaks and feels like wet straw. We remedied this by purchasing the Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner to go with it instead of the type that Amazon listed as "frequently bought together". We would recommend doing the same.

Twice as much active ingredient than H&S brand - 1.9% zinc instead of just 1%. I bought this to help with dry, itching scalp and it works great. Only used it twice so far and already have relief. I bought the moisturizing conditioner as well and my hair is soft and feels great. The shampoo smells like a typical coal tar type shampoo- but it's light and doesn't linger. So far I'm very happy with Kendra products.

This stuff really does work! My scalp was getting very itchy and this stuff takes the itch away in just a few uses! It's also really gentle on colored hair - I have bright pink streaks in my hair and this stuff doesn't fade it out at all! I actually also combine this with some Viral pink shampoo and let both sit on my hair for a few minutes and they both work like a charm. Highly recommend!

I've been using this for just over a month now and have noticed how well it works. I'm not brushing dandruff off my black shirts anymore! It's so exciting. I didn't buy the conditioner and just use what I already had. I also like that it doesn't have that strong smell like selsun blue has.

Description

Kenra Dandruff Shampoo is a color safe treatment that helps to control the recurrence of dandruff symptoms and provide relief from dry scalp and flaking.

This shampoo works really well. I have thick course curly hair and dry scalp issues. I've used this twice a week for a little over a month now and I haven't had any dry patches flair up at all. I also didn't have to re-color after 4-6 washes like previous dry scalp shampoos have caused. It doesn't smell wonderful, not bad, just not fragrant so I recommend the Kendra Moisturizing Conditioner to pair with it, leaves hair super soft and smells like coconuts.

I have psoriasis, and this is one shampoo that keeps it under control. Have tried many to no avail. This shampoo also has a nice scent. Not medicine smelling like most for psoriasis and dry scalp. I Love it!

Decent dandruff shampoo. Not the best as I still have dandruff but much less flakes. Doesn't dry out my scalp as much as other salon-brand dandruff shampoos. So I guess that is the trade-off between getting rid of dandruff and having a shampoo-irritated scalp.

I ordered this because the description said it was ok for colored hair. But it does not state this on the bottle and I feel it strips the color somewhat. I will not order again for this reason.

Funny thing.... I have used this shampoo for several years but not for dandruff. It seems to just be a good shampoo for my hair. It lets the natural curl of my hair ..... rather than be a 'stiffener' on my hair..... come trough. My hair has movement and not stiffness.
