my whole life i’ve had a beard come and go, with no thought to it. i’ve been window shopping beard products for a few years now, convinced the majority of them were “snake oil” (no pun intended). the one brand i kept seeing pop up was “honest amish”. i wish i could instantly give this product to everyone without them having to wait for shipping. the reason i bought this was because i was about to pull another one of my many “bored of the mess, time to shave” and i just decided this was the brand to try ...... wow. i waited about 2-3 weeks before i decided to trim split ends because i wanted to give it time to work.... i really am amazed by how much this controls everything. EVERYDAY WAS “scratch and shake out flakes” before i got this.... OVER HALF of what i was about to trim off is now part of my actual beard. i literally was about to cut off more than half of my beard because i didn’t understand what the problem was.... (box says 1-3 drops.... my beard is still small/medium sized.... i found myself around 10 drops if i just got out of the shower and washed my beard. 5 drops if i haven’t washed it. i just feel like my beard soaks up this stuff and 3 drops will not work for me.)
Amazing stuff. My skin loves it too. As for the smell. I love it, yes it smells like sawdust, and have gotten many compliments from women. If you’re a city boy driving your Prius around working a 9-5 desk job. Maybe the smell is not for you. As for all of us other men, buy it.
Update on 2 years of using this and comparison to the classic beard oil: Still loving this, no skin irritation. Recently tried the third classic oil, I was going to see if I could save a few bucks as this one is a bit more expensive. In my opinion the premium is worth the money. It smells better and seems to be a bit heavier. BUY THIS STUFF! It’s amazing.
EDIT: I just had to come here and update my review after my sister described this oil's scent so perfectly and easily. I said I wouldn't get too close to her baby cause the scent might upset her and she took a whiff and calmly said "oh yeah, it kinda smells like when you sharpen a pencil" hahaha. And that, my friends is the way this oil smells. Sorta like sawdusty and like you just got out of a woodshop.
I'm starting to enjoy Honest Amish products a whole lot, but to be honest myself, I might just try their classic beard oil next time, as I've read it has a more neutral scent. This premium one comes in a big 2oz bottle and that was my main reason for getting it over the classic, but it's got a somewhat "woodsy" scent and if I'm wearing a scented balm too, the smell mix is a bit distracting and not so pleasant.
I've already decided to go scentless for all my beard products in the future, so that I can minimize scents blending together into a gross mixture, mainly with the cologne I tend to wear as well. If you think about it, there's SO many scented things you put on yourself! All fighting for attention with the main and only smell one should care about, which is the cologne you've spent your hard earned dollars on. Shampoos, deodorants, oils, balms, gels, lotions, you name it, they all stick you with a smell and in the end your cologne fades into oblivion or becomes part of a crazy mix which not many ppl would compliment.
I do like how the directions on this oil say to use 3 to 4 drops for each application, which is much, much less than some people use on their beards. Just saw a guy on YouTube use a full dropper of the Honest Amish classic oil and I wondered how his beard wasn't DRIPPING with oil all day long. It was a nice pointer on the directions towards a better and more appropriate mode of applying this sort of product, and I appreciated that.
Great-smelling, moisturizing, but not too heavy- after many attempts at finding the perfect oil for my mountain man's beard, I finally found it! He loves it too. We will definitely be buying this product again!
After a couple of different beard brand products, I must honestly say this one is the best for my taste.
Not does only smell good, but the feeling after use is just amazing, my beard get significantly softer, and the skin underneath stays well lubricated through the day. Love it and highly recommend it.

My beard naturally feels rough when I'm not using a beard oil on almost a daily basis. Out of the ones that I've tried, Honest Amish Premium Beard Oil definitely makes my beard feel softer with continued use. It's got a natural light woodsy smell, and it soaks into the beard very quickly. There's no oily residue and it didn't change my natural gray beard color (although I wish that it could have).
I am a 100% die hard Honest Amish fan since 2013. I decided to try the premium oil. Some say the smell is overwhelming and only smells like wood. My very detailed scent takes me back to highschool industrial tech class(wood shop) but more specifically, gluing balsa wood together. Not sure why, but I instantly have a flash back of gluing balsa wood sticks together. It kinda brought the memory back which is always a cool feeling. The feel of it is very smoothing and moisturizing. I usually wear a balm in my beard all day and RIGHT before I leave the house I put a very light dab of this in the hands and put a light coat on the beard. it instantly makes it look and smell better. Its all natural too so that is a HUGE plus in my book. I will be happy to purchase again. Thanks guys.
Amazing product. I've used various other beard oils but none have the lasting moisturizing effect of the premium beard oil from honest Amish. I use this as well as the heavy duty beard conditioner from honest Amish even with working in a greasy hot dirty environment my beard always is well-kept. I recommend pretty much every honest Amish beard product.
I have tried other beard oils as i am starting to grow my beard. Others either are to oily or to strong smelling.
Honest Amish Premium beard oil is not oily and the smell is great and not overpowering, Easy to apply and makes my beard soft and easy to work with. Strongly recommend this. Forgot to mention that this is 2 oz, other companies are 1oz and more expensive.
I was afraid to try this because it looked like it would be too thick and oily, but it works great. My beard soaks the oil right up and does not look all greasy like other products. Some reviewers do not like the smell. Yes it kind of smells like pencil shavings, but I like it. It is like an old school scent when people actually worked with their hands and built things out of wood. This will now be my go to beard oil. Great stuff!
