I used to play guitar. I have always possessed flaxen ribbons of golden hair trailing across my neck, shoulders and face. When I played power chords, I convulsed my neck so my hair flailed around like the windswept tail of a majestic box kite. Years of thrashing my neck for several hours at a time has caused multiple aural hematomas (a condition common in dogs) in which pockets of blood have accumulated behind my ear flaps causing dizziness, confusion and intense eye-withering pain as I now try and perform even the most mundane tasks like toothbrushing or combing my long beautiful tresses. No longer able to perform anything more than a simple ballad in my robust neck brace while carefully perched dead still on a specially constructed high-backed stool, I have opted to cut the fore curtain of hair fanning across my forehead and waterfalling down my pallid face. These scissors worked awesome.
I am an ex-cosmetologist/hair stylist. I have been cutting my own hair for years. These scissors cut like a knife through butter. Be careful when face framing! The blades are better than you think. At this price I expected less. Also, why are the other reviewers complaining about them being packed in water? This is not tuna or sardines. The scissors come packed in oil, as they should. Water. really people?
I love these scissors! I bought them to groom my beard and these work amazingly! There is no snagging and the tips are not pointed so I am not worried about poking myself in my neck. I checked out other scissors but these are the best! Also I read other reviews saying that they came wet? Yes they did have a couple of drops of oil on them. That is for lubrication! It is not an indication that they are used.
Super sharp and great for giving home haircuts. I'm no professional but my husband is cheap and won't go to the barber so I watched YouTube, taught myself the basics and can do a pretty decent men's cut now. Watch out amateurs though, I was cutting along and didn't realize i had snipped my finger these things are so sharp! As I said, I'm not a professional but I think they work great for the price, I also got them on a daily deal, even better!
I have thick, straight Asian hair and occasionally do small trims by myself. These scissors were a fantastic investment over the duller pair I had been using before. The difference is night and day - these cut the hair cleanly rather than squeezing it away which happens when the scissors are dull which makes for a less precise cut, and my hand doesn't get crampy and sore because the tension screw makes it easy to adjust how much resistance there is when cutting. My mom just gets a straight cut and I've started trimming her hair on occasion too, and she loves it! It's so, so much faster and easier than using scissors not designed for hair. I've had them for a year and they're just as sharp as ever, but I anticipate even if they do dull which they might depending on how often you use them and for what, I can probably sharpen the blades easily. All in all, a fantastic value and I would absolutely recommend it, even if you have thick hair.

After years of trimming my own hair with everything from sewing shears to children's school scissors, I finally did the right thing and bought a pair of scissors made for cutting hair.
I was thrilled to receive these scissors as they seemed well-made and as sharp as reviewers had claimed. After giving them a quick try on a few uneven curls, I almost sliced my fingers when I absent-mindedly wiped them clean with my fingers. "I'll never be that stupid with these scissors again!" I vowed.
I was wrong. Last night I impulsively decided to give a few quick snips to my bangs and snipped right through the flesh of a finger.
I cannot vouch for how long these scissors will keep their edge, but I can unequivocally confirm, they are very sharp.
Clearly I need to leave my hair trimming to more agile hands. Those are the hands these scissors were made for.
I find this are good quality scissors for hair. I have large hands, medium fingers thickness and find this scissors comfortable to use. I like the rounded scissor ends. My only comment is that I use this to trim the hair around my kids ears since that seems to grow faster than the rest of the head, and I have to be careful to complete the cut or I pull hair since the scissors are long. So for the occasional, trim use, pleased with build quality and performance.
This pair of scissors more than met my expectations. I don't think I've ever had scissors this sharp and effortless! I bought them to groom one of my dogs, and what a difference they made - I trimmed her in about 1/4 the time it usually took. I was very pleased, and she was delighted! (Then my friend used them to trim the ends of my long hair, and it took less than a minute!)
I am a hairdresser and just needed a cheap pair of scissors for home. These are good for a beginner or novices but not really sharp enough for a professional.
I bought these to maintain my straight-across bangs because the pair I had before did NOT like being used in the left hand. These are sleek, have that good-quality heaving feeling, and cut very well from both sides! Love.
