I've been experimenting with growing my beard out longer than usual lately, and, as a result, have been experimenting with a few different brands of beard balm. This is the first one I tried, and thus far it remains my favorite.
The hold is about as good as others marketed as heavy duty, which is to say it helps tamp down my frizzy beard pretty well in the morning, and softens things it up nicely. Really the stand out feature of this balm is the scent. As both positive and negative reviews have noted it's relatively potent, compared to other balms that fade completely within 30 minutes. With the Rocky Mountain Barber Sandalwood blend there's a notable scent for a few hours. My impression from the other reviews is that your opinion comes down to whether or not you like the scent. My wife and I do. I'm not sure I'd identify it as sandalwood if sampling blind, but it is pleasant. My wife has said that it has a strong vanilla note for what that's worth. In any event, we both like it, and thus this balm is a hit here.
I purchased RMBC Sandlewood Beard Balm soon after it was released. For the first time I decided to grow my beard out longer than a few weeks worth of growth, always hesitating because of how scraggly I get. While this doesn't paste every last hair down, I have noticed significant improvement as I train it all and the balm helps keep things in place through the evening. I've been applying about a thumbnails worth at a time, I suppose it would manage more mischief if more balm was used.
I'm new to the world of nice woodsy scented products and I love this Sandlewood. It does go on a little stronger in the morning, but as the day progresses a pleasant calming aroma drifts into my nose. I have used a few other sample products from other companies, and the scent of this balm outlasts those by a hours. All told, I'd say the scent lasts 12-13 hours.
In a less pleasant assessment that is, however, worth mentioning, the flakey dry skin that used to fall from my un-balmed beard is no longer an embarrassing feature on the front of a black winter coat. Remember what this product is made of, you will feel a bit of the residue if you rub your beard all day, but it's not excessive.
I have tried lots of beard oil brands at this point, and honestly... This brand feels and works the best. My only issue is the scents. I have bought Cedarwood and Sandalwood so far, and they just smell weird. That being said, all of the ingredients are fantastic, it absorbs into your skin and beard nicely, and my beard has never looked better. Highly recommend, but don't expect it to smell good.
I have bought quite a few items on Amazon but have never written a review on a product until now. I could not pass up in telling others that I think the Rocky Mountain Beard Balm-Sandelwood Scent is a great product. It is easy to put on and has a great scent that is not too light or over powering. It keeps your beard and skin soft and I would definitely purchase it again and maybe try out some of the other scents. that they offer. I give it 5 stars for a quality product.
I’ve been using this for several days now and like the fact it’s not too oily and does it’s job. Unfortunately it has given me a rash on my neck as my beard can at times rub my neck. So I’m going back to the old brand to see if it is something I’m allergic to. It maybe the sandlewood scent that’s doing it, so I’ll repost in a week or two.

This is an incredible beard balm. Not too greasy, you dont have to use much, and it smells great! Will buy again
Great ingridients, MANLY scent. This product satisfied all my expectations. I even substitute cologne with this. My girl loves it and always complements me on how good and masculine I smell
This is the best all around so far on Amazon. Great texture and life through the day. The scent is nice and not to strong.
I have only used the product a few times but so far I really like it. It does a great job softening my beard and controlling the run away hairs. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the scent. While I like it, it doesn't really smell as much like sandalwood as I would have hoped. It's a nice scent just not the same as my sandalwood aftershave or cologne. That being said I would definitely buy again.
This is a great beard balm. I have used a few others but find this to be the best for me. It's not waxy or hard. It has a firm lotion feel that warms up easily in my hand. The sandlewood and bamboos are my favorites scents. It has made my beard easy to manage and my skin feels great!
