I’ve ordered from this company twice.Yellow Brick Road. I weigh mine and it’s always a little over. The quality is very nice, I run a small beauty company so it’s important to me. Some of these reviews are silly. Raw Shea butter has a bit of an odor, refined will not, and refined will be white where as this butter is a light yellow. I’ve never found any bugs or debris either. It’s real, raw, quality Shea butter.
Made beautiful Bath melts and bath bombs with this oil! It felt amazing on my skin and a fraction of the price making these versus buying at lush. Many different recipes online- this being one key ingredient! If this review was helpful please rate so below! Thanks!
I've been using raw shea butter for a couple of years now and this is unlike any of the other blocks of shea I've purchased. But in a good way! I've always wondered why the other blocks were so hard, when shea butter looks soft when it's extracted. This block was soft and felt more silky to the touch,
I'm taking away a star because the packaging isn't resealable and it doesn't look like much effort went into it, but the product itself is extremely legit!
I was first intimadated when I found out I had to bring it to a certain temp and keep it there for a bit, then strain it, but all of the work was worth it. It turned out just fine. I added coconut butter and a bit of grape sead oil and the consistency was very nice. I added essential oils to this, and was very happy with the results. Am ordering 5 more pounds today.
Today is the first time using the shea butter. I'm making a small batch of lip balm as cold weather is quickly approaching. It melted easily and seems fine. Was wrapped in plastic that was sealed with tape. The whole bag was then heat sealed in a mylar type bag. There was no odor or discoloration of the butter when I opened the package. I would buy this again.

I use it for my homemade exfoliationing coconut coffee beauty bars. Leaves your skin soft and moisturized, .
Used to buy from another place, but they stopped selling organic unrefined Shea butter. SO GLAD I found this one! I bought the 4 lb pack and it came in two 2 lb blocks super convenient since I gave half to my coworker! I personally like the nutty smell, so I LOVED it. You can tell by the color and texture that this is in fact unrefined, raw Shea butter. It’s gritty, yet melts when in contact with body heat. And anyone who knows real Shea butter, it’s nkt going to be a perfect white color - the color varies from a darker yellow to a lighter yellow. Will buy again when I run out!
I use this for:
Body lotion (obviously haha)
Hair masks
Lip balm
Mixed with essential oils for an aromatic hand salve
I love, love, love this shea butter. I've used many brands from several companies in my soap making, but this is by far my favorite. It comes in a solid chunk and wrapped in a sealed bag. I like that because it's easier for me to cut off bits to weigh. After opening, I put it into a zipper lock bag to maintain freshness. The Yellow Brick Road shea has a buttery color and a slight smell, but that has not impacted the color or scent of my soap. It's the nicest smelling shea butter that I've personally used. It reminds me of a light cocoa butter scent.
This shea butter was absolutely great. It was super thick, and moisturizing. Perfect to melt down to put into my body butters. It does have a faint smell to it, but I'm assuming all natural shea butter does so that's not anything wrong with this product, great price to!
I am making soap because I and others in my family have dry skin issues. I am absolutely delighted with this product. Thank you yellow brick. PS: if you want white and lower odor, then order the refined shea butter.
