I was a skeptic. I didn't think beard 'elixer' or beard oil could do much other than make your beard appear different.
Boy was I wrong. My beard is softer, thicker, and better looking. I have, historically, had an... unattractive beard. I had some serious beard envy toward all the guys that had well-shaped or thick beards. The difference between a guy with a beard and a beard-guy is grooming and care, including some beard oil or beard balm. I am sure that there are other great products but this has really worked well for me. After three weeks- color me impressed.
Only been using it for a few days. So far I like it. I have very curly beard hair so managing my beard is always a nightmare. Its hard to find something which wouldn't look ridiculous and still manage my beard while giving it a natural look. This seems to make my beard very smooth and manageable. Usually keep beard about 2.5 inches long, any longer and it gets super unmanageable. May be with this I can grow it out longer. I will test it out and post an updated review in a few months.
Update Dec 17, 2016: Gone thru a bottle and a half at this point. This oil is better than any I have tried before. My beard is very curly and after a certain length is reached the bottom and the middle under the chin grow slower than the sides. This oil changed the texture of my beard, the hair became softer and straighter and I was able to grow a my beard a little longer without getting that forked beard at the bottom. Definitely the best beard oil I have ever tried. I don't really notice the smell during the day nor has any of my fiends or family commented on the smell. It has a pleasant smell when first applied but after a few seconds don't notice it anymore.
I typically like a good cedar-chocolate smell for my beard oil. However, this one has the tea-tree/eucalyptus thing going on and it rocks! Only negative is I wish the bottle had a dropper instead of a spout, that way I wouldn't need to get my hands messy.
A good beard oil with a pleasant scent, but maybe too light of a scent. It smells like a mix of menthol and something woodsy and manly. Together it's very soothing and I find myself wanting a stronger smell and maybe with a sweeter overtone then it allows. In general, I use it daily and have certainly noticed a softening of my beard and a little bit of enhanced manageability. I gave it 4 stars because I really enjoy using it, but docked it a star for the following reasons.
- Apricot Kernal Oil isn't as heavily researched as a some of the more common carrier oils. It just made me question the oil originally but I have made peace with it and believe it to be similar to other nut oils like Sweet Almond Oil. I didn't like that I couldn't research this ahead of the purchase.
- The bottle is plastic with a springy pump. That's good and bad. Sometimes I like to push out small qualities for precision...like getting a tiny bit into my mustache. It's not a big deal but sometimes I wish the bottle was glass with a reducer on it to make it easier to go drop by drop.
- I do find it nice and light, but too light for me. I used pure argan oil for a while and found it "lasted" longer then the average oil. I would have liked to find the same quality in this oil.
Absolutely great product!! I have used one bottle so far and am on my second bottle. I really enjoy the smell and how it makes my beard softer, the ladies so far seem to love it to.
Back in November of 2014 I did the no shave November and kept it through the beginning of January but did not enjoy the look of the feel of it so I shaved it. November 2015 then rolled around I had learned about beard oils so I did some research and discovered Wild Willies.
I started over like I had in 2014 except this time I've been using oil everyday and my beard is much better this year. Fuller, softer and have got a lot more compliments on it.
I've actually now bought 3 of my friends a bottle for gifts and they love it!! Great product!

Had a BEARD on & off for many years, now I finally decided to grow a REAL BEARD & the WILD WILLIE Products have made my BEARD clean, soft & actually smelling good, along with promoting good growth & softness. Nice product. No overpowering odor like in some beard oils I have used. It has a very light scent the oil feels great on my skin and beard. The container and dispenser are great. You get 2 ounces instead of one ounce and the price is about the same. The dispenser is a pump which I like a lot better than a dropper and then accidentally knock the bottle over and have oil all over the place. If I knock this over all the oil is still contained in the bottle. Well thought out in that area. Great product.
Wild Willie's Bears Elixir is the BOMB!!! I'm new to the world of facial hair products, and growing out my beard and 'stache for "No-Shave November" inspired me to keep it going and really grow my facial hair out to it's full potential. I researched beard oils to keep my beard healthy and robust, and chose Wild Willie's based on the quality of the ingredients. This is a really good product. The dispenser pumps in small amounts, so it's easy to conserve the oil. It has a nice scent, that is subtle and goes away a couple minutes after it's applied. The oil remains in the beard for several minutes, then seems to become absorbed. What is more impressive, however, is the customer service behind this product. There was an issue with the shipping, I brought it to the attention of the company, and they immediately took care of the problem, without me even requesting. Additionally, then checked in with me (via e-mail) to make sure I was satisfied. I highly recommend this product.
I like this beard oil. I typically like beard balms a little better, though. They seem to just be able to help with stray hairs a little more than oil, in general. But with that being said, this has a pleasant smell and keeps my beard nice and soft as well as any other beard balm/oil that I have tried so far. The smell doesn't last super long which is a pro/con depending on who you ask.
