I am possessed of a thick and wiry beard, and I've decided to let it go full lumberjack. After soon finding it sticking out in all directions, I started looking for styling products. I first tried beard oil; while that did make the hair feel softer, it didn't do much for creating a nice clean appearance. After investigating a number of balms, I opted for this product, as it seemed like a good middle ground between an oil and a full-on wax.
While this isn't a miracle product, I'm pretty satisfied with the results. Applying the balm as instructed and doing a little work with a wooden comb helps me shape my beard so I'm more Ernest Hemingway and less Gabby Hayes. I would say the result is more "control" than hold, but it fulfills my goal of having a full beard and a tidy appearance. It takes a little effort to melt the balm between your hands before applying, but it's a fairly dense product, so that makes sense. And the scent is really nice, a subtle sweet vanilla that isn't too strong or overpowering.
Overall, I'm pleased with this product-- it provides more control than an oil, but doesn't plaster your beard down like a heavy wax might. I've been using it for almost two weeks now without making too much of a dent in it, so I imagine this container will last a very long time.
i have tried about a dozen beard balms over the years and i kept going back to this one. it is a bit harder and doesn’t spread as easy as some but it really keeps my beard in place throughout the day and with repeated use it definitely helps soften it more than others i’ve used.
however! i have been getting the Executive Spice scent since the first time i bought this and recently switched to the Regal Vanilla...and i hate it! it’s too much for me, i smell a vanilla candle all day. i don’t know what i expected i guess, but i was hoping it wasn’t a straight vanilla scent. it’s just a little too feminine for me.
i’ve only used it once so i may just give this one away and order an Executive Spice scent instead. other than that, i’m a repeat customer and always tell my other bearded brothers to give it a shot, as there are so many beard balms to sift through these days. try it.
I'm almost finished with my second tin of this product. Just like many others, I've tried several other brands of waxes and balms. This one has provided the best hold and the matte finish I desire. It is thick and takes a little more effort to warm in the hands but one should expect that with a wax. Scents are always subjective and I like the vanilla. However, it would be nice to see more scent selections in the future.
I've tried more beard balm than I can count from so many companies. These guys are definitely close to being up there with quality if you have a large beard I mean large not I'm gonna grow for Nov...these will def hold it in place and works quite well. The scent not so much not much to smell. That's the reason for 4 stars

Perhaps it is a matter of preference, never the less I was not pleased with the fragrance of The B.I.G Company 's "Executive Spice"; it is extraordinarily pungent! The "Vanilla", on the other hand, is a reasonable scent to have lingering on the beard all day! Ahhh!
Smells great. Has some hold for styling and taming stray hairs. I have tried 4 other beard balm. This is one smells the best and has the most hold. I gave it 4 stars becuz the formulation they had a couple of years ago smelled even better and had a stronger hold. But this still better than all the rest
