I'd recently got to my usual point of frustration with my beard and was about to shave it off and start over, again, when a friend said, "Try some beard oil." But I don't wanna be a hipster, do I have to wear suspenders and skinny-jeans with that? Okay, fine, what's cheap and not too much of a commitment? Well Hello there, sampler gift set.
My beard is coarse and straight (and red, ftw) and my skin is ridiculously sensitive to, well, basically EVERYTHING. First day with the Duckbutter, I was expecting the worst. Happy news, this stuff is awesome! It takes a lot of the itch out of my beard, and makes it more 'trainable'. The scents are nice, not too strong, although my girlfriend says the Beard Commander is 'too industrial'. Well, honey, I'm trying to be more manly, it was either that or 10W-30 motor oil.
The only thing I have to take care with is to keep it off my mustache, or my lips will start to sting. Thank you, sensitive baby-face-skin.
Definitely worth the price, and it only adds a bout a minute to my morning routine.
The product was a gift for my fiance. It arrived quickly in a neat little cardboard box. Unfortunately one of the lids of the bottles was not completely tightened so some of the oil had leaked out. Because the box was wrapped in plastic, luckily the leaked oil was contained in the plastic and did not get on anything else. I contacted the company to let them know of the possible manufacturing glitch but did not request a return because I didn't think we lost enough oil and I didn't want to have to send it all back. The company was quick to reply to my email and offered to send me a new gift pack, free of charge, and I didn't have to make a trip to the post office to send the original one back! The new package arrived quickly and without any leaks! It was very awesome of the company to resolve the problem like that.
As for the product itself, here are my fiance's thoughts:
Packaging: 4 stars / Well presented
The Oils: 5 stars / The oil does it's job and lasts most of the day. I usually apply it around 6am and the beard is going strong when I get off work at 5pm.
Variety: 4 stars / My favorite oil is the 'Beard Commander'. I'm not a fan of the 'Cool Mint'. I think it makes my beard smell like gum, but that's just my personal opinion. This four pack is excellent if you're a new customer and are unsure of which oil to start out with.
Application: 3 stars / My one con or request would be to have the applicator caps on the bottles allow for more flow. It takes me about 10 to 12 shakes to get the amount of oil out I use, which is about the size of a quarter. (Don't let this part deter you. If this is truly a set back for some, the plastic applicator caps can be easily popped out with a small flat head screw driver to allow for pure limitless oil flow to supply your beard. Just sayin.)
Overall, I give this product a 4.5 star rating. Their oils seem top notch, they have good variety, and their customer service is excellent! Though their applicator cap could use a little tweaking.
Love this beard oil. I always try to buy some when it is available. The company obviously listens to their customers. I and several other customers who have left reviews had said in the past that the packaging caused one of their bottles to break or leak, thus losing 25% of the product. The last set I bought had foam packaging instead of the cardboard packing that it had previously. The foam packing held the bottles securely. I love this beard oil. Even though I have three full bottles left, I am going to go ahead and order more just to have on hand.
I bought this as a gift, and I'll be ordering some for all my bearded friends now. It came ready to wrap, in an awesome box that protects the oils well. The bottles were a much bigger size than I expected, and will last quite a while! After he opened it, we did a smell test - it was really hard to pick a favorite. They're all clean, light, fresh, and manly. Beard Commander and Forrest Ranger were probably tied for my favorite, and Cool Mint was my least favorite. That said - I think any of them are great options. He said they felt smooth and luxurious too. It was a major gift win - thanks for such a great product!
A friend recommended this product after seeing me fuss with my itchy beard a bunch. The name threw me off and I initially thought some type of duck fat was used, but the packaging it came in cleared that up immediately. The different scents are really nice, but the best part is that my skin feels really soft and my beard kind of feels silky. My wife mentioned that it makes my beard shine a bit, and she liked than a lot. I don't use many products on my body besides the basics (e.g. deodorant, shampoo, soap, toothpaste and lotion), but I'm seriously considering expanding the "basics" to include beard oil after this initial test run.

This set is priced very reasonably and offers a nice variety of scents - some were traditionally woodsy but others were new and exciting (like Metro Spice). If you aren't sure what scents you like or you like to switch it up, this is definitely a good product. Additionally, although a minor point, I rarely see the kind of care DuckButter put into their packaging. They shipped everything in a study box that protected the bottles well and keeps them in place. I put my oils back in the box every single time and I feel comfortable putting the box in luggage when traveling. If that much care is put into packaging, you can only imagine the care that is put into the actual product.
The bottom line is this: the oils work, they smell good, they let you experiment, and they won't put a hole in your wallet. Quite frankly, I was surprised at the astonishing quality I got for the price. If you're shopping for beard oils, look no more. This is the one (or the four)!
I received this as part of a promotion and am very impressed with the product. The way it is packaged would make this a great gift for someone. The products themselves are all very good. I was a little skeptical at first because I have sensitive skin and broke out easily, but I have been using the different scents for more than a week now and have not had any problems related to breaking out. And to make it that much better, my wife loves the smell of each of the scents. This is a great product if you have a beard and want it to feel and smell great.
The box it comes in is pretty nice. There's no dropper so you just need to hold the bottle upside down. This can become a small annoyance when you get to the bottom of the bottle, but that's easily remedied by prying off the plastic cap. The oil works great on my beard and skin. I've used other beard oil's that dry my skin up, but DUCKBUTTER keeps my beard and skin moisturized all day. The only real downside is the scents all seemed pretty similar. Other than that, it's a great product that I'd purchase again.

I wanna say I was sceptical at first since I fully believe in "you get what you pay for". That being said, you get so much more bang for your buck on this one. It was so affordable that I gave one of the scents to my buddy so he could try it out and we are both very pleased.
I prefer the forest ranger myself. It smells like you just spent a day hiking in the woods. It's got that fresh pine smell and it is simply amazing.
All the scents were good though. Like I said, not overbearing but strong enough that you can tell which is which.
I bought this for my hairy son. He liked it. Here are his thoughts:
Duck butter is a good solid beard oil. The four-pack is nice since it removes some of the uncertainty from buying a beard oil, and also allows you to introduce some variety into your routine. I particularly like beard commander and the forest ranger scents. The beard commander smells like a generic cologne, with ingredients like vanilla and eucalyptus, and the forest ranger smells like pine and cedar. The oils really help make my beard more softer and more comfortable.
