Good product made from REAL ingredients. nothing you can't pronounce. It smells nice and leaves your hair squeaky clean. That being said I don't recommend this for anyone with dry hair. It makes it worse. I bough it because I thought the tea tree oil would moisturize my scalp and help clear up dandruff. But I was wrong, it's too thorough at cleaning for that. I recommend it to someone with oily hair that needs a safe and effective shampoo. Just a little note to those who are looking for plastic free or zero waste. It comes in plastic wrap with a cardboard box.
I have used shampoo bars for the last 3 years. Some are better than others, it's hard to tell without trying them. This is one of the good ones! I have naturally curly hair that tends to be dry. My hair got clean without drying it out. Nice lather, and no gunky feel! I use an apple cider vinegar rinse after washing and often don't bother with conditioner. This bar is lasting forever, great money saver. Im very happy with my purchase and recoment this to anyone wholeheartedly.
Awesome product. Love that is organic and natural. Also smells great and gentle on my hair.
So, I have been off commercial shampoo and conditioner for a few years. I ordinarily use the "no poo" method of washing with baking sioda, rinsing with organic apple cider vinegar. I have been pretty happy with that. I revisited the online article I read when I first chose this method, since I was having trouble with the vinegar leaving my hair looking greasy. It is NOT really greasy, but hey, if it LOOKS greasy, the effect is the same. The apple cider vinegar makes a smooth, silky, shiny effect...but if the balance of vinegar to water in the rinse is off a little, it ends up looking greasy. ANYWAY, in the article, the author mentioned afew other no-poo methods, including a shampoo bar. Long story short, I came to Amazon and sought a paraben-free, Phalate-free, etc good natural bar. I bought this one. Holy Cow. No way did I believe I would not need a conditioner; but I was off and at home, so I experimented. I washed with the bar, rinsed, and allowed my hair to air dry. I expected a frizzy un-navigable mess that I could not comb. Whoa...no such thing. I am in love with this bar. I use jojoba oil on my face and hands, so I am really at home with jojoba and the other oils. What I am delighted about and did not expect is this no-conditioner-needed BALANCE I am left with. My hair is soft, manageable, easy to comb out wet. pretty shiny but not "slick", and the last wash, which was my first wash with this product, was 3 days ago, and it is still like the first day clean. I'm glad if you use soda/ACV and it works for you. It did for me for a long time. But I have found my new go-to. I don't have a dry scalp. no dandruff, no excess oil, so my scalp and hair are pretty un-needful of special care. Also, with my previous no-poo method I could go 3 to 4 days without a wash, so if you are new to no-shampoo, give your hair a learning curve. Your scalp is accustomed to being stripped dry by shampoo and inadequately moistened by conditioner; hang in, your head will find a new normal. This bar is an excellent place to begin :-).
Update, 07/04/2019: Still not needing a conditioner, even more in love wioth this product :-).
Love this shampoo bar! Being someone who has a lot of allergies - it was wonderful to find one I can use that works and that I actually like!
Though I will say it did take a transition. About a week like they said in the description. Even though I was already using a fairly natural shampoo before. I read somewhere that doing an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse after shampooing helps - which it did for me! Dry shampoo during the transition will also be your friend (I have an all natural dry shampoo as well). I also realized that I didn't need to use as much as I thought! Which is great because that means it will last me longer!

Years of use of commercial liquid shampoo which are technically detergents have stripped your natural protective layer from your hair and scalp. Making the scalp and hair dry and itchy. Dandruff and the need for conditioner is a typical outcome from that use.
With a regular use of our Shampoo Bar as less as 7-days It has shown that most were able to restore their in the original form thereby reducing or eliminating dandruff and no need for additional conditioner use.
Our shampoo bar let’s your hair realize its true potential
Some problems that you may have with Natural Cold Process Shampoo
- It takes time for your hair to transition from store bought soaps to natural soaps if you haven’t been used to them. Use hair conditioner after shower for the first week and then you can slowly reduce and stop the use of hair conditioner after shower
- If you find that your lather is turning into a sticky slime and is not washing off or the fragrance changes while taking shower means that your hair is very acidic. It happens if you are using some medicated cream or serums or have excessive oil build up on the scalp and hair. To avoid this situation rise well with water before applying Shampoo Bar
- We advise customers with curly hair to lather up the shampoo bar in hand before applying to their hair. As directly rubbing the shampoo bar on curly hair may lead to hair tangling issue
- Hard tap water can lead to soap scum buildup on your hair
I think I like this better than my NORMAL shampoo!! I do NOT recommend this for campers during camping trips, as the scent, while nice, is STRONG while washing your hair, and you don't want to be attracting bugs in the shower. It's been about half an hour since I washed my hair and there is still a light lavender scent, but it isn't overpowering and is fading. It lathered up great, whether I rubbed it directly in my hair, or in my hands first. Biggest issue is that I use conditioner after my regular shampoo, in part to help get rid of tangles, so I had to fight with them, but they were not as bad as usual when using my regular shampoo without conditioner. I think I'll be ordering a few more and getting a soap box to keep one in my gym bag for the gym!
There’s so much to like (scent, ingredients, minimal packaging), but I feel the need to use a 2nd shampoo after using this. My wet hair feels like hay and the ends still feel oily. Plus, i seem to be using it up quickly as I try to get a good lather. I’m glad it works for others, though.
Purchased this for my daughter who was interested in trying it. It is great and now I am using it as well! This products thoroughly cleans scalp and hair. Definitely recommend this product.
My son loves this shampoo. He suffered from chronic itchy scalp for years in spite of trying just about every bottled shampoo. This shampoo has cured his itchy scalp and also gets rid of the frizz in his naturally curly hair. The scent is clean and it lasts a long time if you keep it dry in between washings.
I've been using this for two weeks now and I have to say that I am happy with the results.
With the first wash, I was a little apprehensive because of how my hair felt while in the shower. It definitely feels different compared to how my hair feels with regular shampoo and conditioner. It's rough feeling and is hard to run my fingers through while wet. However, after drying, it feels surprisingly similar to how it would with regular products. I have very fine, straight hair, and I don't notice a stunning improvement in the health or manageability of my hair. It just feels normal. I do wash every day, so I didn't go through a transition period where my hair was more greasy. I did initially experience a bit more hair loss, which was concerning, but that seems to have returned to normal. I also had a problem with static for a few days, but I quit using my plastic comb after researching a bit and that helped. I put argan oil on my hair also, which helps moisturize.
The shampoo bar itself does have a strong essential oil smell, which was personally a bit off-putting at first. It doesn't linger on hair though and I don't smell it after use. It lathers and rinses well. It also cuts time, since you only have to apply and rinse one thing instead of two if you were using regular shampoo and conditioner. I also like that the bar comes packaged in minimal plastic and is relatively inexpensive. I can tell that it is going to last longer than regular product would as well, which saves me more money. The key to getting it to last longer is to store it in a place where water can't get to it. I purchased a soap dish with a suction cup and put it at the opposite end of the shower.
TL:DR - Overall good replacement for traditional shampoo and conditioner. Cleans just as well and minimizes plastic waste. Strong smell, but does not linger on hair. Inexpensive and lasts a good while.
