I've had a beard a long time, but never given much thought into 'beard care'. Shampoo it, maybe condition it, keep it trimmed. Basic stuff. However, my beard grows in thick and curly and because I work in a professional environment, that means I often have to keep it trimmed shorter than I'd like. Otherwise it becomes an unruly mess and gets comments from my boss and co-workers.
I got to looking around and found the staggering amount of bead specific products out there. This is one of the good ones! I used it every day for two weeks and really couldn't tell if it was making a difference. I thought I had wasted $20. But! Over the Thanksgiving Holiday, I skipped my routine, and boy did I see the difference the Beard Bomb was making then! Without it, my beard was rough and unkempt. I even did just one side to make sure it wasn't all in my head.
This stuff keeps my beard hair softer, smoother, straighter, and gives a neater appearance. While I need more time to be sure, I pretty sure this will translate into me being able to keep a longer, cleaner beard and still keep a professional appearance. Let's be honest, most of these guys you see sporting the lumberjack look (which I like) have independent jobs or jobs in fields that don't have appearance requirements. If you want to have a nice, thick beard and keep on that suit and tie, then this stuff can help you do it.
Unlike beard oil, this stuff doesn't leave you with an oily sheen. It even got rid of beard dandruff. Just rub it on and run a beard brush through it and off you go.
Pros:
Tames those stray hairs
Softens and straightens
No dandruff or flakes.
No oily appearance
Seems to last all day
Cons:
Seems expensive for a tiny can, but a little does seem to go a long way. I've used it every day for two and half weeks now and have only scratched the surface. You also get a cool sticker and the owners contact information if that helps.
The scent could be better. When first open and applied, it definitely has a citronella smell, but after a minute or two it turns into a sweet, citrus scent. My wife hasn't complained. I'm going to have to check, but it would be great if they offered other, more manly scents.
OK, I thought I was going crazy with this but they actually changed the name of this product. I really like the way that it works and I have no complaints about the product itself and it actually makes my beard feel great. I use it whether my facial hair is long or short and mine kind of changes depending on the season. What I found confusing was brand identity to be honest; this was difficult to find and purchase again because they changed the name of it and I was shown a bunch of other products besides this before I could buy it. Thank goodness I recognized the cover on it but as you can see from my photo, the name is just a little bit different. Confusing.
Great balm. This is a really good compromise between the oily balms that are great at moisturizing and the really thick balms that are great for hold. This straddles that line about as well as any I've found. I have a very wiry beard, so the hold is needed. For the same reasons, moisturizing is needed as well. This does a good job with a scent that is pleasant but not overwhelming.
My husband has just recently begun to grow out his beard, so he was wanting to improve the hair's texture a bit. I can definitely attest that this has helped, because I find myself running my fingers through his beard more and more, and we both enjoy the nice scent! He said it's not sticky at all, and a little bit goes a long way.
Got this balm yesterday and I must say, the sent of tea tree is strong when you open the tin and I was a little worried. That said, I was still looking forward to using the product.
After getting out of the shower this morning I massaged in a good bit of the balm into my beard and hair (beard balm does wonders as a hair product with a good amount of hold and unlike pomades and such, wont conflict with the smell of your beard since its the same product) and the ease with which it tamed my beard was very satisfactory.
Now the smell of the balm isn't nearly as strong applied to my beard as it was in the tin but its still there and that's the only reason its not 5 stars for me which isn't the balms fault. You may love the product, but as for me I'll be trying out some of Grave Before Shave's other balms as the quality and hold of their balms exceeded my expectations and their tin art is just perfect! In fact I ordered their pine balm already.

My husband likes this beard balm a lot but I really like the smell! It has a woodsy, cedar-and-outdoors kind of smell that is faint but appealing. He's got a couple other products but I find myself favoring this one the most. Masculine and attractive scent!
This is my husband's go to balm..it leaves his beard so soft and tangle free. He has been using it for six months and he will not let me purchase any other product for him. He loves it. If you have a short stubble or a full man beard, you need to try this stuff. And the scent is not overpowering or yucky. He says it really helps with itching and flakiness as well.
It is amazing! It does wonders for your beard. It keeps it nice and soft, keeps your skin underneath your beard moisturized, helps keep it styled (helps prevent those strays from standing up) and it has an amazing scent! What more could you want from a beard balm?
This is not what I expected. It does make a beard tangle free and very soft. However for shaping this does not do that. It does not h. Once shaped it doesn't hold very long. So I will be looking for something that will hold shape better like what the use for flat top hair cutts. Anyone remember Butch wax?
Bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas. He loves it! I noticed that his beard looked really shiny and healthy after using it. It smells really good too.
