I've been using Taylor of Old Bond Street (Sandalwood) for years but was running low and because Cremo had good ratings I thought I'd give this one a try. Taylor is a bit thicker, comes in a similar tub, and somewhat easier to dip my wet brush into. It takes a bit more effort to get enough Cremo onto my brush to get a lather. I keep a short neat beard so I'm only shaving my neck. The lather is good but not as thick as Taylor. Thick lathers can be deceiving as canned foam provides a thicker lather but is horrible at moisturizing the facial hair. Both Cremo and Taylor are pretty good at keeping the beard moisturized - far superior over canned shave creams. The proof is in the shaving and I found both Cremo and Taylor of Old Bond Street to be almost equal. It's really hard to distinguish any noticable differences in the shave. I use a 1956 Gillette safety razor. I get no knicks from either brand of creams. The sandalwood smell is better from Taylor but that is a personal preference. One tub of Taylor of Old Bond Street lasts a long time for my needs. I suspect the same for Cremo. The difference in cost is about $4 to $5 more for a tub of Taylor of Old Bond Street.
Overall I would say there is not much difference in quality of shave between Cremo and Taylor of Old Bond Street. I would rate Cremo 4.5 stars but Amazon doesn't allow half-stars. I thought Taylor is a half-star better because of personal preferences - thicker lather and easier to apply. But either way I believe you'll get a good clean shave from Cremo. The differences are personal and what you are used to using. There is not much sandalwood smell to Cremo but who cares, really? After shaving and wiping away excess Taylor of Old Bond Street there wasn't much sandalwood smell remaining either. Cremo is a bit less expensive on Amazon. You can find Cremo in some grocery stores but for more than what Amazon charges.
I opened the box and there it was, my sandalwood lathering shave cream. I picked it up and the cap was a little loose. Whatever, no big deal. They put seals on these things.
I open up the lid and the seal comes off it. The contents shifted in such a way that the cream created a vacuum so that, when I pulled the cap off (coming with it the seal), a large amount of cream almost roared over the lip of the container.
Other than that, I'm satisfied with the cream. it delivers the same Cremo smoothness that I've grown accustomed to over the last 4 years.
EDIT: Got my second order of this and the seal under the lid was, once again, not attached. That's not a sign of a quality product when something I put on my face may be tampered with.
EDIT 2: Okay, some may say, why would someone buy a product again after complaining twice about it? I will start off with this: Cremo is a company that has won my trust before. I started using their shaving cream back in 2015 and fell in love with the smooth shave and long-lasting products they provide. They are also a company that listens to their customers and they put a non-tamper tab on the container. Additionally, the seal was securely placed under the lid. They strive for quality and this is why I stick by them. They provide quality products and care about their customers!
This is some of the best sandalwood smelling shaving soap i've ever tired and boy is it slick. However, i cannot build a lather with this stuff no matter what i do. Ive tried it with a badger brush, a boar brush, with lots of water, with little water. face lather, bowl lather. nothing seems to create a long lasting lather. does it stop me from enjoying my shave? not really but without the protection of a thick lather, i have nicked myself.
I give it a 4 out of 5 stars because its still an enjoyable product but i'd rather spend a couple more dollars and get proraso red.
Solid product. Only 4 stars because I was expecting more lather, which is not a problem at all, but when the label says "lathering shave cream" it might be a little misleading. The cream does lather and coat my skin to and the shave is great, but the white foamy lather disappears in the time it takes to put down my shave brush and pick up my razor. I'm used to foam hanging around for a bit. Cremo makes good stuff, and I'd recommend this product if you are used to low-to-no cream shaving.
Very moisturizing, great shave. My only issue is that the lather breaks down very quickly on your face (you better move fast with that razor!). Unlike traditional soaps or shaving cream, this lather doesn't last. But, it doesn't seem to matter, the shave cream still provides great lubrication for the razor. Works well on other parts of the body too (ahem).

Love Cremo! Used their tube cream and recently switched to the tub with brush. Excellent product and you don't need much of it when applying with a brush. Tub lasts a good while👍
Cremo is the slickest shaving cream I have used and gives me my best shave.
The menthol and the sandalwood are definitely my favorites. I recommend this shaving cream to anyone with sensitive skin.
This product took some getting used to, had to play around with getting a good foam, but once I got it down it gives a pretty smooth shave, not as smooth as the brushless cream they offer in my opinion but something about a brush just does it. The smell is amazing and lasts provided you get the perfect consistently and application process, If you rush or are in a hurry then it won't last and you probably shouldn't be using cream requiring a brush.
I have been shaving everyday for the past 24 years.....where has this product been my whole life?!?! I use a safety razor and normally cut myself in “some” way. No more cuts and baby smooth after every single shave. It has decreased ingrown hairs and razor burn. If you shave daily...plan on 2 per month. BUT WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY!
I've been waiting for a long while for Cremo Cream to make a shave cream specifically for brush and blade shavers like myself. This is it and it's wonderful. Creamy and slick almost beyond belief, it makes wet shaving a slippery joy. I've tried to use the tubed Cremo Cream but it does not work as well with a brush as this formula. BRILLIANT!
