I go between this and the ruckus forming cream. they both smell great, fresh and clean, but different - so that will be up for opinion, though i doubt either scents would offend anyone. the hold is about the same as ruckus, and the only real difference i find between the two is the scent and the level of shine (ruckus is slightly shiny, while this one is matte). both wash out pretty well, and both are on the slightly more expensive side of men's hair product. i've also tried the billy jealousy styling Mud, which definitely holds better than either this or ruckus, but i'm not a fan of the heavier 'creamy' scent of that one (again, YMMV). the mud also doesn't wash out as easily.
having been a Gatsby fan in the past (i've tried the yellow, red, green and brown, settling on the green for awhile), i can tell you that i find the billy j products to be superior and have switched.
I would likely give this product 5 stars if it had some more hold to it. I have fine, thinning hair, so have to be careful with which products I use. This does a great job of thickening up the hair, and leaving it matte. Only issue is that the hold isn't as strong as I would like - it's still good, but you may need to give it touch-ups throughout the day, or at least fix your hair quickly once you get into work, etc. I use it more for casual days or rotate it with some other products depending on needs.
When I started using hair product, I bought at least 7 different types of pomade, molding cream, paste, and hair spray. At a medium price, this was by far the best. It holds hair in place, and looks more natural as the day goes on without losing its hold. At first, it looks like a strong hold pomade, but once you run your hands through it, it breaks up and looks natural. It works well in wet hair, but can go into dry hair as well. It isn't sticky. It even works after sleeping with it in, just re-wet and re-place the hair. It washes out easily with shampoo.
I have had fine hair all my life, little wisps of velvet hair even in childhood through adulthood, and 99% of hair products always weigh my hair down like pancakes. This is one of few hair products I've ever found that actually seems to *add* volume to my hair rather than *subtract.* It also has a great masculine scent to it. Get this stuff.
This is probably my favorite hair product. It smells good, it gives it a hold strong enough to where you can mold your hair how you want, but doesn't give you that crunchy helmet hair like regular gel does. It washes out well and has a matte finish. Highly recommend!

Sparring is great for judo experts and even debaters, but it shouldn't apply to your hair. Grapple and take down that unruly beast with Headlock Molding Cream, a strong hold, matte-finish styling agent. Can be worked into both dry and damp hair. Creates fearsome pliability, thickness and texture.
I'm on my second container of the stuff. Works great and I like the scent. I have thick hair and I am growing it long. Right now it's in the awkward phase so I can't really do anything but slick it back. This stuff holds great and washes out easy enough. One thing is make sure you close it back up after use. This is totally on me but the stuff can dry out.
Bought this hair gel braised off a co-workers advice for my boyfriend. Him and his brother now swear by it. It’s better than gel and better than palmaide. It’s the perfect inbetween without they’re hair looking stiff or gelled back. They can achieve the natural styled look.
Works perfectly. The quality is great. Just the cost is a bit of a pain but worth it.
This is my favorite and go-to hair molding mud/cream. I actually like Headlock more than Billy Jealousy's popular Ruckus cream. This has a much better hold than Ruckus or any other mud I have tried. It provides a strong hold while still allowing you to run your hands through your hair without getting all nasty.
Best hair product I've ever used. I have fine, light hair, and this stuff is perfect. Used a myriad of products over the years, most often AC Fiber. Always wanted something better but couldn't find it. Until now. A bit lighter than fiber, more natural looking, still great hold.
