I don't like blow drying my hair so when I found this product I was excited to try it. I usd it once and my hair felt light and still had a shine after blow out. I used it again after sitting around the camp fire and it totally got rid of the smoke smell. Thanks for an awesome product
Generally I go to the hair dresser, but in the interest of saving money (and time) I've been doing my own hair and the hair of my two daughters. I have a relaxer and my 14 year old has one, but my 12 year old is growing hers out. Her hair is almost evenly split between new (virgin, non-relaxed) growth and relaxer.
There were two products my hair dresser always used when she styled our hair - 1. heat protectant 2. shine/sheen spray. I could buy the products through here, but they're not cheap so I thought I'd look to amazon.
There are many different heat protectors but I selected this one based on the price (less than $10) and the reviews (I only looked at ones with 4 or more stars).
I did have a concern. I don't like using a lot of products in our hair. I just don't. But, what I notice about doing our hair is that it's so dry. Noticeably dry. So dry that my hair is all over the sink, bathroom door (from blow drying it in front of the door) and bathroom floor. And, not only does it LOOK dry, but it FEELS dry. So, I realize that NO products isn't going to work, but I also didn't want to go to the extreme where the products I use make our hair weighed down and heavy and greasy. I was paying attention to the reviews to see if people mentioned those problems with the product.
I'm so glad I selected this hair protector spray. It's lighter than I expected it to be. I've both sprayed it directly into my hair and also sprayed it into my palm and "wiped" it through my hair. I don't think there is much of a difference except I can control better where it goes when I spray it into my hand first. If I didn't know better I would think I was spraying water into my hand - that's how light it is. PLUS!
It doesn't feel greasy or make my hair greasy. WIN!
When I use the flat iron in my hair, it glides so smoothly. That's a completely different experience than when I use the flat iron without the protector. It's almost like you can HEAR it grating against my hair. It's not smooth. It doesn't glide. And I can feel it breaking. THIS WAS AN UNEXPECTED OCCURRENCE, BUT I LOVE IT!
And when I'm done? My hair style just LOOKS better. Shiny. Smooth. Straight. Noticeably different.
For my daughter who is growing out her natural hair, I think the benefits are exponentially increased because her hair is stressed where the 2 different hair textures meet. And this product can help it be less stressful and damaging when using heat products (blow dryer and flat iron) on hair that just wants to break.
And, then to know that it offers the benefit of being good for my hair because of the argan oil and because it's protecting it from the heat and the damage the heat can cause is just amazing.
I have found no negatives for this product.

Bought this to protect my hair from the heat of the flat iron. It smells really good and leaves my hair shiny. It also seems to help keep my hair straight longer. I have very thick curly hair so even after I straighten it I usually have frizz after a few hours. So far while using this product it has really cut down on this. I think I found the one I will stick to!
This thermal shield works best at temperatures 450° and higher, I've tryed it at a low temperature and it didn't straighten my hair very good and kind of made it feel nappy/rough so I wouldn't recommend lower temperatures or using this product close to your roots because it is an oil and it will make your hair look oily/dirty in a short time period. This product used at 450° made my hair very shiny, smooth, slightly heavier and a little darker in color. I was able to use it 4-5 times with long hair and the misting nozzle actually does a very nice fine mist with no dripping and it has a beautiful honeysuckle/Lemon smell that reminds me of an essential oil. I can't say that what the description claims is all true but I did injoy the product and would probably buy it again for a leave in conditioner due to its wonderful smell. Hope this helped you.😊
I use this on damp hair before drying my hair and then again when straightening and the courser dry hair around my face seemed to transform into easy to manage hair with way less breakage. It doesn't have a strong smell, it's light, and doesn't leave my hair greasy which was an initial concern. I don't have much to compare to in the heat protection department but I'm very pleased with this product and will continue to purchase it.

My hair is super curly, gets frizzy and sometimes dry. I used to use products that were thick and weighed my hair down or left my hair feeling greasy. This is a great product! I bought it to use with a hot brush, but I tried it on freshly shampooed hair, using the hair dryer and the results were so incredible, I haven’t needed to use the hot brush. My hair is dry, fuzzy, dull and color treated. The Argan Oil Protector Spray made my hair beautifully smooth, shiny and manageable. And it stays that way until the next shampoo. Highly recommended!
Excellent product. My hair is very dry and I do not want to relax it or keratin it...too expensive and worse treatment. I spray 3 pumps on my palm and put it on all of my hair. It does not look so dry and makes my hair shine. I love the product. Thank you
So I have ordered this argan oil thermal protector in the past, the new product is a different formula. It is much thinner so my previous process of pumping into my hands and then smearing on my hair is now ineffective. Now I can spritz it all over for better coverage! It seams to protect my hair when I flat iron... but really that is difficult to judge, I initially thought I liked the original formula better, but I have adjusted my application process, and have found it works great to solve staticky hair in our dry sodak winters too! Overall pretty pleased with this heat protectant.
