Well, it works IF you follow the instructions on the sheet to the tee(and then some). I'm brown faded, grey beard.Lots of Trial and error to get my moneys worth. Used this all over.
2 part process. (the one part did not produce the results as i wanted)
As in mixing with coffee(I made my mix with super strong espresso) and leaving out for 10 hours and adding a bit of apple cider vinegar if you have a lot of greys.
Then it fails to mention that you absolutely have to wrap your beard in plastic wrap and keep the mixture moist for hours ( I found this out by watching a few youtube videos) Then you have to sit like that for 3 hours. So HBO(cause netflix has crap lately) and chill. Then your done with step 1. Rinse out with no shampoo cold water per instructions.
Let dry.
After you complete the henna step your beard/hair will look red or orange (slightly reminding you of the Orangutan in charge of the usa)
So now the question remains do you want to sacrifice another 3 hours?
Step 2 indigo . SO the indigo will only adhere to the henna color not natural human color (natural chemical reaction)hair as I found out by trying to skip the 2 step process.
(again not fully included in instructions. You have to watch some youtube videos.) Is to mix the indigo with some table salt and warm water, into a pudding paste, otherwise the liquid will just run off. Also have to keep this process moist for the absorption to the hair. Apply. Wrap your beard and hair with plastic wrap of some sort. & Sit another 3 hours . Then wash out with cold water and use a natural non sls conditioner, It says hair will get darker the next 48 hours.
So in all lets break in down
Preparation of coffee 5minutes Mixing the henna paste 5 min. Wait 10 hours. Apply for 10minutes. Wait 3 hours.
Wash 2minutes. Dry. 2nd process lets say 30min from mixing to readyness. Then 3hours. Some clean up time.
Idealistic application process your looking at 7 hours of your time.
I understand if you live on a farm or in rural India, where you can maybe walk around in public and wont be judged.
But this is one of the most impractical ways I have ever dyed my hair.
I now understand the crazy processes women go for for their insecurities.
This has really just made me consider to rock the grey.
End result if you follow what I mentioned, it works(and you may feel like your qualified enough to go work at a hair salon afterwards) and looks just as good in the picture. But you have to sacrifice half the day on the entire process. You could split the 2 processes in two days if your not hiding that your doing it. Look orange/red one day then jet black the next. Depends on the nature of your job and or social life.
Pros supposedly its non toxic. I'm not that sure about Indigo , it seems to have an interesting history. I highly recommend reading the wikipedia page. They add it to dye blue jeans.
It last much longer than the other bottle based stuff I bought like HairTint or Naturetint which both contain PPD. Bad for DNA damage potential cancers etc. And the reviewer below who is praising just for men, that is extremely harsh for you biological system in the long term.
So I guess for the amount of time it does last its worth it. But I know Im not going to be applying it as often. Need to find some middle ground.
Also the instructions on how much powder to use given are more for the length of hair pictured. Really I got by with just 3 teaspoons of the stuff in both powders. So this package can last 5 or so applications for someone like me (for full head and beard) Probably 20 times if just beard
Im giving this more a 3.7/5 stars because even though I hate the process and how time consuming it is. It works as advertised.
Thank you for this great product . it takes quite a bit of time ,1 hour but unlike the unnatural chemical dyes it doesn't make me break out. Also a great value comes with one bag if henna and one bag of indigo usually lasts me about a month !

Very pure content, strengthened my year old beard, slowly changed from light red and blonde so a deep rainbow of rich chocolate browns and shimmering reds. Thickened my hair. Would and have ordered again. Added benefit besides the weight, strength and body is that some of the curl straightened out of my beard, adding length
