My hair is very straight and thin. It just whisps around in the wind like its careless and weightless. I had a burning itching reaction to one of my other toxic hair products so thought I would give this natural product a try. THIS STUFF ROCKS! Its honestly better than any other products I've used including Aveda mens. Its also made from volcanic clay and nourishing oils and smells great. Needs to be mixed up with a knife or toothpick btw. My only complaint is that there is genetically modified soybean wax in this and likely another genetically modified oil of some kind. I avoid gmos like the plague and especially soy but I will make an exception for this awesome pomade.
I apply this product after blow drying my hair. I rub it through my fingers until it's mostly dissolved. Then style my hair with my fingers as needed. Scoop one dime size if you prefer your hair to still flow but want to easily direct it back into place. Will repeat with second dime size if I prefer a semi-stronger hold. 3rd dime size should get you that stiffer gel type hold restricting movement without the gel type shine if that's what you're going for.
- About as natural an ingredient list that I was able to come across for this type of product. I'm tempted to put it on my face like you would a clay mask.
- Fairly lightweight and it melts/dissolves easily without residue or making my hair feel heavy, hard, or sticky.
- No overbearing scent or fragrance; Smells like clay when you scoop out of the puck but can't detect that clay aroma in your hair.
- Natural looking, no frills, no shine look and I feel like it creates a bit of texture.
- I use it on my beard to control the ends/shape as well.
- Sub $20/puck is a good price point for a quality product like this. If you're been spending closer to the $10 range for your product I think it's worth it to come up in price for this one. If you're spending more than $25 for your product you're probably paying more for the design on the jar than you are what's inside.
I've been using this volcanics clay pomade for about a month now. It's perfect for me and I imagine it will be a staple in my hair care lineup for years to come so please do not change the ingredients or formula for this product. This company is a fairly new brand based in SF but I think once people start discovering how premium of a product this truly is they will start to takeoff in popularity.
Took a leap of faith & ordered this due to the all natural ingredients. I was not disappointed at all ! Unlike other reviewers my pomade did not need to be mixed. It was ready to go. Easy scoop, light on your hands. No pull or tug on your hair. This one needed one more light scoop compared to other heavier pomades but I don't mind one bit. For me it worked better with drier hair. Felt like with damp hair it would not hold as much. Today I was trying to re-order this one but was unavailable, I ended up getting the same brand but the wax pomade. Thanks & keep up the good work !!
Natural ingredients. Good hold. Not too tough to wash out (unlike beeswax products). Has a nice, mild smell. And seems like a good value (although I bought at $15 and see it's now up to $19). For short hair and medium to firm hold w/o the shine, def recommend
Overall an excellent product, works well, and I really appreciate the natural ingredients. Wears out over the course of the day, need to apply a bit more before heading out for the night, but a bit of spray or gel would probably make it last 24hrs. Definitely my new go-to, and my wife loves it too.

This stuff is pretty incredible! My husband and son love it and it holds their hair better than anything else. I definitely recommend this and would give up more than five stars if I could!
Great product, good matte hold. Easy to wash out, holds most of the day even under heat without feeling heavy. Price is right and natural!
This clay pomade is awesome. It's easy to apply, and gives hair texture, body, and subtle shape. It has a pleasant low-key fragrance. It's easy to wash off the hands of any residue.
All natural and easy on the hair no chemicals and hair is still on head :) highly recommend
I use the Volcanics Clay Pomade daily and I notice my hair is conditioned and healthier. I've also noticed improvements in my scalp and the tea tree in the pomade has helped with scalp irritation. The pomade holds all day, does not leave my hair greasy and smells great. I really appreciate that the product is natural and made with organic ingredients. It was difficult to find an eco-friendly brand that's as high quality as Volcanics. Will be recommending.
