As someone who's had a beard off and on for the better part of a decade, I've gone through my fair share of beard products. For the most part they're all very similar. The washes for the most part clean and leave a very squeaky clean (almost dry) feeling out of the shower. Conditioners help a bit after a wash, but not anything to write home about, the only one I've tried that I really liked was Scotch Porter.
Oils help in hydrating, some are excessively oily and just don't look very appealing. Balms will help tidy up the overall shape of the beard, some are not really strong enough and just end up being another layer of oil on the wiskers.
Ok, now for this review... So I believe this to be the most natural and most effective line of products I've found to date. First off, the wash, oh my, the wash... I could really just stop right there. This is my favorite of the line.
It leaves my beard so soft I find myself not wanting to ruin it with a conditioner. If you try just one of these product, the wash is a must.
Next we have the detangler, this is pretty much a leave in conditioner. It softens out the beard even further and adds a slickness to the beard, it feels great.
The oil in the set is probably unnecessary since the wash and detangler do such a great job, but in any case it is a quality oil. The reason I say this is because it doesn't really stay oily in the hair, you can feel that after initially applying, it does absorb into either the follicle or skin, whichever it's intended to. As I mentioned, there are some oils that just don't do that, it's just greasy all day long.
The balm is probably my least favorite of the line, but only because it's not a very strong holding balm. It's kind of like I mentioned, another layer of oil. This one does also absorb so it's ok. I prefer a more tacky balm with more wax rather than oils.
Also, the scent of this line is a subtle chocolatey vanilla kind of smell. It's a very pleasant scent that my wife also enjoyed initially. However after about a week or so of using the product, I no longer get so much as a whiff, which is fine, I find that to be common with many of these beard oils and such.
So, overall a great set of products that leave my beard feeling soft and hydrated all day long, it also feels like quality, in the sense that it does absorb. It doesn't feel like you just applied baby oil all over your face. I cannot stress this point enough, there are some "name brand" beard care product that feel as such. That's why this product line really stands out to me. Five stars...

My girlfriend got these for me as a birthday gift, and I've been using them pretty much daily ever since. The oil gets the most use, as I apply it a couple of times a day to keep my unruly pirate beard soft and well conditioned. For any stray hairs and bed beard, the balm generally does the trick. It has a higher wax content than some other balms, which gives it a bit more hold. The tub is larger than the standard tin most such products I've seen come in, so it should last me a while. The beard wash is great as well. It is a very mild soap that doesn't strip oils from the hair like most shampoos. My general process is to wash with the beard wash, apply the oil while combing through the beard, then apply a bit of the balm with a brush to hold any strays in place and keep it shapely. I've used the detangler as well, but I don't generally need it in addition to the oil, so it hasn't gotten as much use. The thing I like most about these products is the scent. It is a kind of woodsy sandalwood aroma combined with sweet vanilla notes and a little muskiness. My girlfriend says I smell like a mix of woodlands and cookies, and she's always chasing me around sniffing my beard, so I'd say the products work as desired. This is also my favorite scent of the beard products I've tried so far.
Shea moisture is a quality brand and they make good products. This kit is pretty good. I use the beard wash and beard balm and it works pretty good. My face is sensitive so I needed something that didn't irritate my face. The scents are subtle and not overbearing. When using the beard balm you have scoop some out then rub your hands together then apply. The beard balm is like a pomade and hard and so it'll take some getting used
to when you first s apply it. Overall satisfied have used the other 2 products that came with it because I only have a little bit of facial hair and thought it was unnecessary but to each is own.
I bought this for my husband who has used several other beard kits. This byfar is his and my favorite. The beard wash, detangler and oil make his beard soft to the touch and leave a very light and pleasant smell. My husband has sensitive skin and he has had no issues with this product at all. He doesnt use the beard balm often as he says it has a bit of a waxy feel that he is not 100% pleased with. Other than that it works great! Highly recommend!

Love this AWESOME product ! It smell so good ..... It make my beard so soft & manageable at the same time . Especially, the beard detangler & the beard wash . They're both good products as a whole . I've tried other beard products in the past . Some were expensive & some were cheaper . Although , the beard balm is too thick like clay. It still keep the shape of my beard in place . I'm not ever going back to other beard products again . Shea Moisture Beard Products will be my beard care for the near future ALWAYS ......
This stuff is fantastic! I purchased for my husband and he loves it as well. His beard is very thick and coarse and this stuff softens it right up! I could run my fingers through his beard easily after one use; the Beard Detangler is the truth! These products are very moisturizing as well, and smells amazing. I’ll definitely buy these products again.
UPDATE: My partner has finally washed his beard with the beard shampoo...guys she wants your beard to smell like this. You want your beard to smell like this for her! I was disappointed that he went to work almost immediately after though. Lol. Super sexy scent 😉🥰

We love the Shea Moisture company. They are PETA friendly, organic, no toxins, & an honest company. I haven’t given it to my boyfriend yet because it’s for his stocking but we have tried nearly all of Shea Moisture’s products & they are undeniably wonderful. Slightly overpriced but they use Fair Trade so that’s to be expected.
All products in kit work very well and smell very nice. I do not use the pomade everyday, only sparingly as I believe it (pomade) is a bit overboard and too thick to work with. Actually my son had given me his pomade before my kit arrived because he had the same opinion as I. I highly recommend the wash & all moisturizers. I will buy more when needed. Great products.
I have only use the beard wash and detangler but with just those two products alone I am super satisfied with this purchase. I’ve only used a beard oil once and it’s pretty good but the beard balm is incredibly hard and you have to work it a lot to make it pliable so I’m on the fence with it.
