This is a great product, and I have been using it daily for the last five days. Personally speaking, I do not mind the smell on the Gold, which has a bit of smokey, woody fragrance to it, and it does not feel overpowering to bother others when you put it on. I like it. I personally use this during evening hours, where you can easily keep your beard tamed but ultimately it will keep it hydrated really well. This is a bit different from other beard oils due to its thickness which I find it much more suitable for medium to longer beards. While I can't definitely say this helps in growing a beard, the main purpose to use this jelly is to help your beard hydrate well. 4oz of tube is of great convenience over drops, but this is just a minor added plus in my opinion. Lastly, I have noticed consistently this jelly retains great shine on your beard, and I love the shiny look, but if you don't, look for something else. This product shines and I highly recommend it.
Have tried my beard oils--I've even made my own. This stuff is great. I was skeptical about the jelly consistency, but it's actually not as messy as most of the oils and balms that I have used. I have a dark beard and I appreciate the sheen that this product leaves. Buying another bottle to travel with!
I was looking specifically for a beard oil that wouldn't leave me smelling like a lumberjack or like I've come out of the 70s. The gold scent from bossman has so far been great. The thicker consistency feels easier to rub in and my beard is significantly less itchy as it grows out. The bottle size does make it hard to take through the airport as a carry-on item. Since TSA has no plans to change their policies, perhaps Bossman could consider dropping this from 4oz to 3.4oz.
Wonderful product! My beard is short but my skin was flaky. Not anymore! It’s shiny and soft and healthy now! A tiny bit goes a very long way. Scent is rather mild, more so then I expected. Would have liked it a bit stronger. But I love the texture of the product. And it is REALLY well worth the cost for this amount! The package arrived promptly and in excellent condition. Was well secured, zero leakage. Would I buy again? Absolutely! And I highly recommend it! Thank you for a fine product from a young and upcoming company!
First and foremost, I respect the manner of which this was shipped. The bottle was enclosed in a bag, somewhat tightly. I imagine this was to minimize the chance of product spilling. Even when I managed to open the bottle through the bag, very little was spilled. But I digress.
I'm a citrus guy, so I purchased the GOLD. It took me a while to get to this after ordering, so I simply and only remembered buying this because it was lemon scented. Upon pouring a dab into my palm, I smelled a hint of lemon but there was also a woodsy scent of various woods. The sandlewood was easy to identify, but the others I couldn't put my finger on until reading the bottle. So smell wise, thinking predominately sandlewood with other woods and a light layer of lemon. It's definitely a light yet earthy scent that's not very over-powering.
Feel wise, this stuff feels like a creamy balm that is too warm to solidify or a fairly thick body lotion. I applied a bit fo my beard and facial hair before styling my beard into form. At first, I didn't notice any immediate difference. About an hour later I glanced in a mirror and noticed my beard was noticeably tighter. That is to say, the hairs appeared to come more together. I had practically no strays, which totally surprised me. So while I was a bit disappointed that my beard appeared to have shrunk a bit, I was thrilled because it looked like my beard was recently styled and any strays were dealt with accordingly. At this point, I expected the hair to be fairly rough or stiff, it was still quite soft. I don't mind dealing with a bit of shrinkage if it means the overall product looks nice and neat and doesn't feel coarse.
I'm only a few days in, but I'm enjoying this product.
Realistically I plan on making a switch to beard jelly. I likely will only revert back to my previous balm in the couple of days after trimming when my beard is more restrained. Aside from that this beard jelly is a pretty nice product. Good smell, and great end result.

This is good stuff I've used several different brands over the years. I even made my own oil for a while which became to much of a pain while raising 4 kids. I love the fact that it's thicker than regular oil but still performs wonderfully. This is on par with any of the high priced oil for a far better price. I ordered the gold and I don't know if I could find a better scent. I'm gonna say bossman has found another loyal customer!
1st time trying a replacement for my beard oil and this stuff is great. My beard is thick long full (Thanks Dad) and with that acts like a sponge. I was just about to start making my oil blend to reduce costs. When I decided to givethis a shot and I tell what you I use a lot less of this than I do oil. Thanks Bossman your customer reps are awesome even when it's my fault.
All I can say is WOW. I’ve used multiple beard care products...This product is by far the best on amazon, possibly the world! This will be a thorough review so please read. First, the consistency of the jelly far exceeded my expectations. It’s similar to the consistency of shampoo, very smooth with a little weight to it. After rubbing about a quarter size amount in my hands for a few seconds it creates a thick oil that coats the hands. I apply root to ends and then a couple under the neck. I can tell every hair gets an even coating. Being a jelly not just an oil it immediately gives a nice hold. This product has excellent conditioning ability. It’s not overly oily or sticky like a balm, it’s a perfect in between. It’s heavier than oil and lighter than balm, but has the conditioning and hold of both. Now for the smell, I got Stagecoach and again, wow! Smells like leather upfront with notes of fresh tobacco, and a slight spice. The scent lasts all day without dissipating. Very masculine scent. Think new boots, leather jacket, and a freshly opened cigar. So good. My beard is soft and clean, shape is held nicely. I’ll probably never buy a different beard care product again.
Works better than any other beard oil I have used. I even replaced a 45 dollar bottle of oil that my barber sold me with this. Make sure you shake it well, and don't over do it. I run a narrow line down my pinky to measure out the correct dosage. My beard is about 3" long per hair at this point.
Just received the product yesterday, today is the first day of use so this is a first impression review. I have been working on my beard for well over a year and have used many different products. For a first impression the scent (gold) is exactly as described and smells refreshing and clean. I wish the scent lasted all day but I haven't found one that does so far. Probably around 4-6 hours and it was faded away. This is the first time I have used a jelly type beard oil. I definitely like the way it goes on and it seemed to stay with me as a conditioner all day. I also used the balm in the same scent and it worked as expected and is equal to most other good brands I have used. Hope to try some of the other scents in the future.
