I'll admit that I think this product is overpriced; in fact, it's one of the major factors in my decision to write this review. I've tried a dozen or so competing products in my search for a lower-cost alternative that performs as well as Jack Black Dry Down powder, but it simply doesn't exist.
This stuff is essential in Texas, and not just for the gym. It goes on as a fine powder and stays dry all day. It doesn't cake (an essential feature!) or overdry skin. And it smells great, too!
If you're on the fence about buying this because of the price, I'd tell you to treat yourself a little! The only potential drawback is that you'll finally realize how inferior other products are & Jack Black will have you hooked... which starts a snowball effect of you having to get a second job and/or a second mortgage to cover the cost of your body powder addiction, eventually leading to you waking up homeless & destitute under a bridge near downtown. But hey - I'll guarantee you'll be the driest & best-smelling person under that bridge!
Wow... that took a dark turn & probably didn't do any favors for my argument. Oh, well.
We were warned about talc (a mineral) in our after bath powders so corn starch was the recommendation. Jack Black (spoiler, I'm a huge fan of their products) has offered a corn starch based power with a light lavender scent and I really like it. It's great for moisture absorption after bath and the "friction free" description seems to be accurate (ahem, it goes in your undies).
The scent is not over powering (I like that) and the container is easy to use - shaking out a handful is a snap. The only negative is that. like many Jack Black products, it has a premium price. Other than that, I like it and will buy it again.
Non talc makes girlfriend happy. Has a peculiar smell-- some will like the odor, some won't.
As for the powder itself, it is the absolutely best powder I've ever tried. It has a perfect texture, the applicator is great and not too messy, keeps me mostly dry and has minimal caking. It also has a delightful scent that's fresh and not overpowering.
However, unfortunately, I've been dealing with candida rashes and because this powder has cornstarch, things only got worse. I will need to limit my use of the powder to when I have no rashes and just use it to try and keep dry.
I usually travel with baby powder but decided to try this after reading the great reviews. I love the powder - mild scent, nice texture, long lasting. The bottle is nice in my bathroom but it's not snug at all when traveling and ended up breaking pretty easily, making a mess. So if you're leaving it in the bathroom, go for it, good product. Not good for traveling.

Nice product but expensive. I use this daily after showering in the mornings and found that it only works for me if I use it in my body AND my boxers. It requires more powder, but it works well even on very humid days (granted, I work in an office). I took off one star for the price tag.
I have been using this product everyday for 2 months now and will tell you it is a must have. It prevents sweat and odor after a day at work or the gym. It has became a part of my morning routine.
I have used many powders, sprays and even creams to keep down there dry. There are times when it gets really, well, swampy. JB Dry Down is the best product I have ever used to stay dry. After my morning shower, apply it and be comfortable all day.
At first I questioned the price I was going to pay for a bottle of powder, but for the protection, I have not complaints and I am well covered, all day (puns included are free). I definitely recommend this product, for the quality, durability, texture and scent. A++
WOW. This powder beats any other hands down. It’s not like normal powder because of the cornstarch in it. Very smooth and keeps my husband cool and much more comfortable in the heat. I liked it so well I borrowed it from him and didn’t want to give it back.
