This has been a useful kit for me. I just began shaving with a safety razor this year, and this brush, soap, and bowl are great. The bowl is ceramic and fits the included soap perfectly. The brush is soft and applied the soap well. Some hairs from the brush came loose at first, but I think that's normal. My only complaint is that the stand for the brush is made of plastic and looks/feels cheap, but I keep it in my medicine cabinet so I don't look at it when it's not in use anyway.
My husband likes this product compared to others that he purchased in the past.
Have never used a brush and soap, but this is quality and does a nice job. Pamper yourself!
Our son in-law like the set very much and was happy with the style of handle. The brush was a hood quality.

*** Update****. So my original review wasn’t good. Mainly because the brush I’ve used before didn’t stink and spread lathe pretty good. Well I spoke to the company and after considering what they told me and product comparison, I guess I had a synthetic brush before. So yes, a real badger brush will have a smell to it, and now I know. I can say the customer service from this company is great and so with that and my new knowledge, I’ve upped the stars to 4. I purchased this set in honor of my dad, who I shaved for years with a badger fur brush while he was in the nursing home. He recently passed away and I wanted to shave the old fashioned way like I shaved him. This brush smells like a wild animal. The soap doesn’t lather very well. The brush spreads out and when you apply the soap it covers everything, including your lips when you try and get your mustache. I figured this would be a nice brush since it’s more expensive than other brands, but no. Very disappointed. I will be trying to find my dads brand because that badger brush didn’t smell and the bristles did not spread out like a woman’s makeup brush.
