This product is pretty amazing. I had concerns that it wouldn't be able to fully cover my dark brown with gray hair adequately. I was very pleasantly surprised to say the least.
There are no instructions included, but after watching several 'henna for beginners' videos on YouTube, I felt confident enough to proceed. I have medium length hair and found that 1-1/4c. of dry henna powder was just about perfect. I mixed the henna with pre-made tea (four chamomile tea bags steeped in about 8-10oz water, the juice of one lemon, and one tablespoon ground cinnamon). This created a mixture that is the consistency of baby food. I let the henna/tea/lemon mixture sit covered under plastic wrap for three hours to fully develop. (It starts out moss green and changes to a reddish brown)
Next I covered all surfaces and put coconut oil along my hairline to keep from staining my skin, and then put on my gloves.
I applied the henna mixture, paying special attention to the roots covering each section with henna, wrapped my head with Saran Wrap and waited three hours before rinsing and applying conditioner. (The cinnamon and conditioner keep your hair from smelling like a barn. 😉)
What resulted was simply gorgeous soft dark auburn hair. Stunning. Very pleased. And this 'crunchy' organic lady digs the fact that it is all natural and chemical free. Well worth the time and effort!

*edit*. I wanted to come back and edit my review because I mentioned the itching I had from using previous henna brands. I did not itch at all using this brand and I have touched up my roots two times since my original review. I am very pleased!
I have used many different kinds of henna before and wanted to try this because the price is right. Well this is the only henna I will ever use again. you get so much for the price. Iwas very soft and fine. It mixed easily although I did have clumps. It wasn't an issue when I applied to my hair. I am 99% grey. Although I can dye my hair and the grey always takes my hair is a little dry/coarse. Not only did this turn out to be a beautiful light copper my hair also was not dry and brittle and tangled as it has been in the past with other brands. The mixture rinsed right out, very easily and my hair was soft. The ends stayed a little dry. But they always are. Over the next couple days if I notice itching I will come back and update this review. With every other brand I have used, my scalp itched so much. I can't wait to do it again so I can make it a little darker.

This is great stuff - very fine powder, easy to use, not even messy at all! My hair loves it, it totally covers my greys - I will never use hair dyes again.
If you are afraid to use henna - just start googling, there is a lot of information out there, and since this is a natural product, there are a lot of opinions. There is a learning curve, but its actually very easy and fun to do! I also use indigo for brown/black tones, over this in a two step process. (Don't listen to your hairdresser when they try to warn you away from it - they are talking about the store kinds that has metals added to the powder.)

I have natural 4C/4B hair and have tried several different brands of henna powder over the years. This is by far my favorite! Because it is so finely sifted, it mixes and applies with ease! Give this one a try, I don't think you will be disappointed.

I mixed it with tea and left it for an hour. Cracked an egg into it and applied it on my hair and left it on overnight. The henna covered my grey hair very well and gave a rich dark tone to the rest of my hair and left it feeling very thick and full.

I'm using this as a skin dye for henna/mehndi and it's perfect. Buying this powder in bulk for hair is so much more cost effective then buying smaller batches of henna for skin. There's really no difference between henna powder for hair and henna for skin. I'll try and post some photos of the dye soon

I was a little worried when I ordered this, but I am so glad I did! When I opened the package, the color was the right shade of green. There were no mystery chunks and the smell was as it was supposed to be. I did try something different this time. (Not a clue what possessed me to do this!) I slapped it on my hair right after mixing it together! I was planning to let it sit overnight and put it on in the morning but, for whatever reason, I just started smearing. (Maybe I forgot I was doing Henna and not Indigo?) Well, I decided to continue on and wrapped my head in saran wrap, then a plastic bag and, lastly, a towel, then it was off to bed. (I felt like such a rebel, putting the henna on without waiting for dye release!)
When I woke up, I wasn't sure what to expect, so I avoided any mirrors until I had consumed a sufficient amount of caffeine, giving it a total of close to 9 .5 hours on my hair. When i removed the towel, I was pleased to see that it had turned the expected reddish-brown color. Apparently, dye release comes much quicker when it's locked up in the cling wrap sauna on my head! My hair was a nice dark, coppery orange, which developed into a gorgeous deep chestnut red! There it was 11 am, when I'd normally just be starting to put the henna on and wasting most of the day with my head wrapped up and I was ready to go out and enjoy my Saturday!

I've been using henna on my hair for several years now and just tried this brand for the first time. It worked great. The henna comes in 4 sealed bags. I mixed up two and froze the other two as powder. The packaging says you can mix the powder with just water and let it sit for 4-6 hours, but I followed my normal procedure of using an acidic liquid to bring out the dye molecules and letting it sit longer to make sure the dye is releasing. If you've tried this henna and gotten poor results, make sure you're using an acid and be patient.

In my mix, I used primarily Celestial Seasonings Raspberry Zinger tea (in the past I've used pure hibiscus, black tea, and coffee--all work great) and lemon juice, with some eucalyptus oil for scent. I covered it with plastic wrap on the surface of the henna and let it sit for about 16 hours until I was sure the dye was releasing (you'll see some orange-ish oil on the edges of any air pockets). I then added a bit more liquid to get the right consistency and a little olive oil for moisturizing. I left it on my hair with my head wrapped in plastic wrap for about 2 hours before rinsing it. I usually leave my henna on for longer, but the shorter time still worked great. I got a good auburn stain on my brown hair with my grays showing as pretty flame highlights. My roots blended just fine with the rest of my hair that had previously been hennaed (I did d my whole head this time, not just the roots). I froze the extra mixed henna as well--it can be used later once defrosted with no decrease in color quality.

Very high-quality product that mixes well and provides good results. The color is rich and beautiful. I have 70% white hair (see my answer in the Q&A section for how to use henna with indigo for white/gray roots), and the process works well using this henna. It says organically cultivated and natural, but I don't see where it is certified organic. However, the color of the henna powder is a vibrant green which is good, meaning, it's high quality. I highly recommend it.

I was skeptical about using Henna because I have fine hair and I was concerned about the coloring of my hair. Since using Henna those are no longer concerns. It has toughen up my strands, my hair is retaining moisture, hair feels softer, and the color is beautiful on my gray hairs, absolutely beautiful.
