I used this on my hair that I dyed black for years. (Although i had not dyed my hair for at least 6 months before using this product)
I sprayed on individual pieces before blow drying a couple times a week, and when I’d go to the beach. It gradually lightened and looks natural.
I didn’t ever make my hair orange like sun in has.
My best friend and I found this product out in Montauk and it blows Sun-In and lemon juice out of the water. I’m a medium brunette who had golden blonde undertones. My friend is a medium blonde This product took me to caramel with light blonde and platinum streaks and my friend to straight platinum borderline translucent white. I’m addicted to this product. It’s smells amazing too. Do not hesitate to try this product. Coat your hair, hit the sun, we leave it in for hours, and reapply after we swim in the ocean (or pool). Side note: all of Sun Bums products are amazing. Their SPF lip balm is the most delicious with no chemical taste like other SPF lip balms. Their shampoo/conditioner... all of it... bangarang.
Went from being a dark brunette to almost blonde! My boyfriend was also obessed with this product turning his brunette hair surfer boy blonde! This product is amazing and works great!
i really didn’t like the darkness of my hair, so i bought sun bum! i love it. it made my hair so much more lighter and in such a short time. the picture included was after one day that i was in the sun. i love this product, but i wish the product was bigger. amazing i will keep using until my hair reaches a dirty blonde color, (if that’s possible lol)
This is a fabulous product! I was turned on to sun bum while staying at Myrtle beach found a bottle of sun bum cool off. Needless to say that product blew my mind! Their products smell SO amazing. Makes you feel like your laying right on the beach with the sun in your face! So I was hooked. I went on to their sunscreen, tanning oils, and aloe. I was never disappointed! So I thought I’d give their hair products a go. Glad I did! They smell just like all other sun bum products which was my main go to factor and their products being so good. Well they haven’t failed in this area of product either! The Shampoo and conditioner is wonderful, it only takes a small amount and leaves your hair feeling so silky soft like you just left the salon. The three in one leave in conditioner gives it more silky soft knows as well as the great smell of the beach and I can already notice a huge difference in my hair which is amazing! My hair has never felt better. I also use the leave in conditioner treatment masque, which you leave in your hair for 5 to 10 minutes then rinse I do this once a week. Currently I have highlighted hair so I use the blonde version of their shampoo which smells a little more citrusy. But is done fabulous for my blonde highlights. Thank you sun bum! I will be trying more of their products.

I used a whole bottle of this on my two daughters hair over the summer. One had very dark almost black hair and I concentrated it on the ends and she now has beautiful warm sparkly brown ombré effect. My other daughter has medium brown hair and her ends are almost blond now. It didn’t dry out their hair at all and they loved the way it smelled. Although I thought it smelled kinda funky (peroxide undertone) but not bad enough to not use it. The change was very noticeable and the girls constantly received compliments on their hair color.
This stuff works really well to highlight hair! Doesn't smell bad and worked fast- I am naturally darker blonde and it really lightened the color although it seems a bit brassy, so I'm probably going to find a purple toning shampoo to see if it helps. My hair looks really healthy and shiny
This is the best thing ever! It is similar to sun-in, but way more effective and doesn’t leave your hair orange. I have dirty blonde/light brown hair that gets a really mousy color if I don’t highlight it. I started using this a year ago, and I have not been to the salon since! My hair is actually blonder than when I get a full head of highlights that costs $100+. It also isn’t just “one note,” it looks like I have natural highlights. My hair also feels healthier because I think this is much less harsh. I just spray it all over and blow-dry. I would say you definitely need to get a good purple shampoo to tone out any brassiness. I use Aveda Blue Malva system and it works wonders. Between this product and the purple shampoo/conditioner, you can skip the salon and save so much money!
This stuff really works! I was blonde as a child but I’m definitely a brunette now. My hair does have some natural highlight in it, but none of the highlights are naturally blonde in color. More just lighter browns within darker brown. I used this stuff a lot last summer and it worked! I concentrated on some strands that framed my face and then misted it everywhere for general lightening. The strands that I intentionally drenched near my face turned actual blonde after a few uses! The product actually smells pretty good too, some peroxide is noticeable but mostly by me as others frequently comment that it smells nice when I have it in my hair. I just wish it came in a larger bottle because I have a lot of hair and it takes quite a bit to get any coverage.
Smells great and makes my blonde hair shimmer!!! Smell is a bit strong though.
