It works just fine as a pre-shave oil, and the pump works well, but I have a hard time smelling anything even remotely like Bay rum.
There are spices, and the scent isn’t bad, but I’m not picking up the traditional scent at all.
UPDATE: Alex from Nicholas Beard Works has been incredible after seeing the review above. He sent me out a different oil, Old Time Barbershop, and it is wonderful. The Bay Rum WORKED perfectly, but the Barbershop has a scent that's right up my alley.
Alex and Nicholas Beard Works have probably been the best, most responsive sellers I've ever encountered on Amazon. Recommend without hesitation.
What a great way to shave. A little goes a long way. The smell is so good that I dont even need to wear cologne when I go out. In addition supreme customer service. I made a stupid mistake when using the product and they immediately went above and beyond to rectify my oopsy.
Got this Bay Rum from Nicholas Beard Works as a Sample bottle, and it's not your typical heavy Bay Rum. Lightly scented to my taste. Love it. One thing that's great about Nicholas Beard Works is that every order is made by hand. so if you like your oils on the heavy scented side, send him a note and he's gonna make it right for you.. Great Customer service and quick shipping. Can't brag on my order enough, with out making myself look crazy.. It's remarkable and one of the best beard oils that I have found.
