Kent Handmade Combs for Men Set of 3 - 81T, FOT and R7T - For Hair, Beard, and Mustache Care Kit, Best For Men, Pocket and Travel

They are the best non wooden comb that I have found! It does a nice job gliding through hair, although it does run into more snags than my wooden comb (have to pull out and start over), and I do find that it pulls more hairs out than my wooden comb (still way less than any other plastic comb). I would have to say its probably because of this feature:

"Another unique feature is that the inside edge of each tooth is left with the rough saw-cut impression which..."

Where a wooden comb has no rough cuts, the teeth/bristles are smooth all the way through. The tiny comb, is pretty much just for mustaches, where the larger two in this set suit beards well. I have thicker longer hair on my head and they do not quite provide the area I would like for the top of my head. Probably need a non pocket version of the comb to give a fair review for the head. These are my bathroom combs, my main pocket comb for my beard is a wooden one.

These are good combs, however, I would say they aren't so awesome as so many reviews say. The mustache comb is well worth it. The other combs are a nice bonus and are a better than average comb I would agree. I think it's really about the spacing between the teeth as far as combs are concerned for how smooth it will run through your beard. Overall, I think it's a nice set but I found that I only really needed/wanted the mustache comb. I only bought the set because $20 for the set was better than almost $10 just for the mustache comb. I cannot give it five stars because I was expecting them to run like butter through my beard and was just not the case. I'm probably being really critical because of all the great reviews I read about them and these weren't some fly by night combs and Kent has been around forever, but just did not find the overall quality to live up to what I thought they would be.

Updated from four to five once I received my replacement from Amazon. This time I received the smallest comb without any teeth stuck together. Initial review below.
Combs appear to be of excellent quality. The teeth don't pull at the hair and pass through gently. I will have to return them for replacement because the smallest comb has two teeth that are stuck together and won't come apart. I didn't use much force since I didn't want to do any damage to the teeth. I hope this is just a random fluke that wasn't caught during the "handmade" process. I wouldn't expect a handmade product to make it to the consumer with such a flaw.

As others have stated, the mustache comb is quite small. However, it is for exactly that... mustaches. So unless you have some sort of tube sock growing out from under your nose, the mustache comb is great and fits perfectly in that small pocket all jeans have that nothing else seems to fit in. Great for grooming on the go. The whole set is quite nice, although I am partial to the mustache comb and the next size up for my beard. Nicely made and mine have held up well (and my wife says I'm hard on things). The only thing is that the gold lettering has come off, but like other reviewers have observed, it is probably from the beard oil I am using.

I ordered this set due to growing out my beard and wanting a good beard and mustache comb. The small mustache comb is great for combing your mustache and trimming it. The size is not great for combining the beard as it says it’s for beard to. The other 2 combs are great quality as well but my only complaint is the “fine tooth” isn’t as fine as it needs to be in my opinion. If my beard was big and bushy they would do, however, I don’t have a big thick bushy beard so I find that I prefer my wooden beard comb that came with my beard balm to be my preferred comb over all. The teeth are finer and makes my beard look great. I don’t want to take anything away from the Kent combs. They are great combs and for the right beards I’m sure they are what’s needed. I do use one for my hair and I’m using the beard comb as a vehicle comb for when I need to straighten up on the go. I certainly feel the price for the set was well worth the money spent. Shipping was quick and accurate and I can honestly say I’ll buy again. Looking at another “bigger” Kent comb for my hair. The ones in this set are pocket size with the mustache comb being wallet size. Keep that in mind when ordering. Satisfied customer!

Every Kent comb undergoes the traditional craft of shaping and cutting from solid blank tortoiseshell effect material. Each tooth is cut by special circular saws, profiled, beveled and hand-polished on pumice wheels to ensure perfect hair penetration without scratching the scalp. Another unique feature is that the inside edge of each tooth is left with the rough saw-cut impression which, when the hair is drawn through the teeth, cleans the hair of dust and encourages the release of natural hair oils. Hand-made Kent combs are the ultimate in daily hair care and the mark of distinction.

I have been guilty of using the cheap little black plastic comb that comes with most beard trimmers and never knew there was a difference. After watching several beard vlogs I decided to give the Kent comb a try. After using these combs for a week or so I have definitely become a big fan. The overall quality of the plastic is very good and they have a great feel to them when using. The only complaint I have is the gold lettering has already begun to rub off with less than two weeks of use. I use your normal run of the mill oils and would not have thought they would cause this. This is a minor complaint as it combs great but I would have just expected the lettering to stay on better when you pay almost $20 for three combs.

Solid product.

It's easy to look at the price and say "Who spends that much on three combs?" when you can buy a bunch from a dollar store for a fraction of the price. The second you hold these things in your hand is the second you'll understand why. These are absolutely worth the price difference as you can feel the build quality both in your hand and when you use it in your hair/beard.

I mostly purchased this 3-piece set for the mustache comb. I was concerned that I may not like the size of the smallest comb so I bought the three piece set to be sure I had something I could use.

Despite my worries, the combs are solid and the mustache comb is not too small (at least in my opinion)

It's literally the size of three U.S. quarters. If you want to get an idea of the size before you purchase, line up three quarters and you'll know what you're getting. (I've included a picture for reference)

The build quality and the feel of these combs on your hair is absolutely worth the price difference.

• The combs just "feel" right. You hold these in your hands and you automatically know the quality is higher than the average drugstore comb. You're not being screwed over for a product marketed as being of a higher quality. You feel the difference.

• The three piece set is perfect for most of uses. The largest comb is great as a hair comb while the smaller two pieces are solid beard and mustache combs. I carry around the smallest comb as my "to go" mustache comb.

My facial hair is a little thick for these combs (my fault). The mustache comb could definitely use some wider spacing as most mustaches are probably a bit thicker than the manufacturer predicted. The FOT is my daily beard comb. The larger teeth of the R7T comb work as well, but my beard gets snagged on the smaller teeth so I don't really use it. Quality product/good craftsmanship. Beard/essential oils will fade the gold writing on the comb over time, but you can't really fault the manufacturer for that.

Awesome Product.
- Smooth as butter. It doesn't tug on my beard at all.
- Feels very durable.
- Looks like a classic comb. Like something your grandpa used. (He probably did)
- Handmade! Something that doesn't seem common anymore. Very High Quality. I was skeptical but without a doubt glad i made the purchase.
- Note: They aren't very big. They are small combs. Perfect for beards.
ONLY CON: The Kent logo kinda rubbed off the comb on day two but i dont really care. I paid for a quality comb not the Kent logo. lol.

I was instructed to throw away my cheap plastic combs if I didn't want them splitting my beard that I was trying to grow. I bought this set and a can of beard oil, and also a shampoo and conditioner set with argan oil in it. I use the small comb on my moustache, and the medium sized comb has been so good to my beard (don't comb it wet. Wet follicles are delicate and you can still pull some hairs out, stealing bushiness), especially when I apply some beard oil in there. I don't rinse off the oil, and when I'm in a hurry it tames my beard pretty famously. I rarely use the largest comb, but totally would if my hair or beard got that long, but we're not there, yet. Doubt I will be. Happy to have purchased.
