I wasn't quite sure what the difference was between all the Wahl kits. This one was lower-priced, so I assumed it was more of a bare-bones kit. Nope, it comes with every conceivable attachment and comb. Even stuff I'd never seen before. It makes cutting my hair a breeze.
The best part is blending -- there's a little lever on the side that you can use to make a nice, even blend on your head. Say you shave the bottom on #2 and then do #3 a little higher up. Then you can put the #2 attachment back on and flip the lever -- it raises the attachment a little so it becomes sort of a "#2.5." Then you kind of flip the razor across the weight line between #2 and #3, and you end up with an even blend. Hard to describe, but works perfectly and makes things easy for guys who are all thumbs, like me.
I bought this two years ago and have been using it at least once per month since the purchase. I don't know much about alternate clippers but this has held up just fine. I oil it after every use for storage, then lightly clean it before use.
My only pseudo-complaint is that the kit is somewhat heavy, but I don't think there's much alternative unless you were using a battery-powered clipper (but I prefer the AC version like this).
This is a great clipper! Quiet and easy to use, it gives a very professional finish. The clipper itself is of a good quality, the attachments and scissors are somewhat flimsy. I used it to trim all 5 of my boys hair with good results.
Important note, however. Brand new from the package the clipper DID NOT work. The blades did not move, regardless of adjustments made. My husband had to take it apart and fix it before it was usable. This is why I did not rate it 5 stars.
This set works great for home use. I've been cutting my own hair for over 10 years now and this set is the best I've had. It is on the heavy side a little but makes up for it in the number of clips and the closeness of cutting. I did notice that it gets a little hot on the sides if you use it for an extended amount of time. I will try to post some picks of my hair before and after.
Ordered this to replace another wahl that was pretty old. It worked well but was extremely loud in my opinion. I ended up sending this back, both because of the noise and because my husband actually wanted to upgrade to a cordless.

This has been a great set. I have do a lot of hair cuts with 4 boys and a husband. This set has been great, and very used.
I use it to this day but stopped shaving my head so I still use it to trim my hair or bangs
I have used this product on and off for a number of years now. Very pleased with the product. Built well, works great. Would highly recommend.
The only downside is that an electric connection is needed in the vicinity. But thats not a deal breaker for me.
The clipper works fine. I have no complaints. Espacially for 25 dollars it is very worth the money and you get guides and combs included. I would certainly reccomend it to anyone. I'd imagine there's a few other Wahl clipper which are of same quality. For 25 bucks you really cant beat it, I've only used it like twice so far but I'm sure it will work just as it does now for the next few years at least. It also comes with oil. legit.
So, the haircut kit arrived the last week, and I gave myself my first haircut (which wasn't much more than a buzz cut, as I made the mistake of forgetting to replace the bit halfway through, after brushing some hair off the clipper. HAHA)
Works great, I have only used it once, so I'm still unsure of its longevity. But so far I am very pleased. It works well, feels weighty, and durable.
time will tell on the how well and how long it remains functional.
