This is exactly what i expected. Product is a cream base, dab a small amount and smear in between hands and put through hair. Best to use when hair is dry or just before it has dried and then use a blow dryer to style hair.

This is a paste type product. It's a pale green color and has a slightly waxy feel. Get a bit out with your fingers, rub it between your hands and then apply to damp or dry hair. Comb or style as usual. It has a pleasant pine scent that isn't too strong.
This product is matte so no shiny look. Just holds really well. My son with short hair really likes it.
I used to think GIBS was all about facial hair. Not so. In addition to most of their beard products also being great for skin and other hair, they offer dedicated top of the head items like Original Outlaw. This "hair spackle" is a thick cream to use in place of a gel or spray. Scoop out a dab from the stylish container, rub it between your hands, and work it through you hair all the way down to your scalp.
If you're fresh out of the shower and your hair is still damp, it will help style hair and is great with a blow dryer. On dry hair it holds much more firmly and to restyle simply run damp hands through you hair and comb or brush. It works well with a messy look too when only applied and styled with fingers. Original Outlaw has a fresh, masculine scent that lingers, but isn't overpowering. While I haven't used many post-shower hair products in the past several years, I can see this one becoming a regular.

I'm not sure what's going on with some of these reviews but from the name of the product alone: "hair spackle", it's obvious that this isn't a gel or a cream. Gibs makes a variety of hair products and this one is closest to a pastelike pomade. It's medium thick and can be worked into hair easily, damp or dry. It's medium-high hold without feeling crunchy, but the formula is thin enough to where it will come out if you play with your hair too much. So this is more of a lighter product for people who just need a little hold, nothing crazy. I'd recommend it for thin to medium thick hair. I have thick hair and it works ok but I have to use a lot and if I mess with my hair, I can get it to look like I just washed it which isn't a good thing. I do like how light it is and it's super easy to work with.
It doesn't really have a smell at all, except for a bit of a chemical scent. Not its best trait. Overall this is a decent hair product, but like any item like this it's not going to be for everyone.
I have two boys who are using this product currently, both who are scent sensitive and HATE musk smells, so they're loving this hair spackle. They both have very short hair - not buzzed completely, but it's not long at all. One has curlier hair with a cowlick and he uses it to shape around his face into what he likes. The other has super stick straight hair and looks like he has bed head all the time, so he uses it to tame the sized around his ears and kind of shape a little in the front. Both are very happy with this product and that it does not leave a residue after washing it out or swimming.

My teen son is very conscious of looking like he has "tried" too hard to style his hair. He wants his hair to stay in place and not look coated in a shiny residue and this product does that. It takes just a little bit to work his wavy hair into shape and it holds throughout his school day except when he works out. The packaging is on point for his age group and he seems pretty happy with this product.
I first tried this at Sports Clips...I am sure everyone has individual preferences and this happens to be mine. I use this every time because it works for me. Yes, it is a spackle. I have tried many others. Holds my type of hair well, lasts awhile, and not too shiny. I am not sure why buyers slam the product because they received something they didn't expect. Go get your hair cut and ask the stylist to try different products on you. I am sure you will find the right one eventually...good luck!
If you’re used to using gel to style your hair and have it stay put you may have to get used to this product. It still lets you style and really – REALLY – keeps holds of that style but the product itself is more like a waxy cream. You only need a tiny dab that you rub through your hands and then do a quick massage into your hair and style. My boys really like it as they are very active and want something that holds.
I like everything about this hair spackle except the scent. I find the scent too strong and I smell it all day long. The spackle itself hold my short hair nicely and isn't too heavy or thick. If it didn't have that scent it would definitely get 5 stars.
LOVE IT! This product works excellent on my son’s really thick hair. The name is hair spackle after all LOL! We had also tried the GIBS texturizing spray as well, but it wasn’t good for his hair type. The scent is so nice.. clean and very masculine! Less is more with this pomade.. a little goes a long way. FYI: Works much better as far as hold goes, if used on dry hair. I’ll definitely purchase again! Thumbs up!
