This is a great product but be sure not to lose the attachments because Panasonic does not appear to sell them seperately and you will be forced to purchase a chinese knockoff of inferior quality.

This is an excellent hair clipper. I had the original US model, the ER-153, which lasted nearly 15 years until the alkaline rechargeable batteries wouldn't hold a charge any more. This new model, the dual voltage ER-1511, (technically an ER-1511-S), now uses Nickel Metal Hydride batteries,(NiMH), which should last even longer.
The problem I had with this model, (sold by TheJD in South Korea), is the fact that I didn't get the US plug adapter that's shown on the website and the 5 grey-colored comb attachments either, (also shown on the website). Subsequently, TheJD has sent me all the missing parts and assurred me all new customers after 2-1-14 are getting all the parts as shown.
Panasonic should really make another model, just for US customers, with the right plug and all the combs.
With a minor modification I was able to interchange the the cutter assembly from my original unit to fit the new one. Now I have a spare cutter assembly. My old comb attachments also fit this model, (with a little fine tuning).
I cut my own hair at home and this is an excellent clipper. Keep in mind though, the range of cut hair length is limited to roughly 1/16" min to 7/8" max.
One more point, the moving blade of the cutter assembly has an improved shape to suposedly cut better, but they are using a new finish on the gold colored fixed cutter blade which seems to creat some drag on the skin, (a negative). I'm using my old original cutter assembly from my old ER-153 and it still cuts great and dosen't have that slight draging feeling on the skin.

The reason I chose this rating, the trimmer operates very smoothly with little vibration. Has a good strong motor that cuts through hair quite easily. Has a nice assortment of guards. Quality product.
What I didn't like about it and it was mainly an error on my part, It didn't cut close enough to the skin and I should have taken note of the data and the cut length without using a guard.
It is rather pricey but I think it's worth it. I do plan on purchasing the smaller model that cuts even closer. I'm sticking with Panasonic when it comes to trimmers.
I love this clipper , I just wish I got more head with the purchase.
