This is only the second mustache wax I've tried so my basis for comparison is limited-as is the length of my mustache.
There is my control situation, with not yet full handlebar length longest hairs, but getting close, with the shorter hairs getting loose.
This wax, while I would not call it a VERY strong hold wax, does have a slightly stronger hold than the OAK CITY BEARD CO.s "firm hold" ORIGINAL WAX. (bee's wax, coconut oil, shea butter, vitamin E, but no microwax)
For me this one being reviewed does hold the hairs in place longer, (for a couple hours in the best of conditions) but it takes more wax than I would like to use to do so.
Both waxes can EASILY be scooped out with a thumbnail or better still, a comb's edge, and applied directly that way without heating or kneading by hand-which in my mind is a BIG plus.
The scent is mild, a bee's wax/lanolin odor. I actually prefer the OAK CITY's scent (bee'swax, coconut oil, shea butter), which I'd hoped to be able to blend with this one-if this had turned out to be too strong of a hold.
Just a bit higher percentage microwax in their recipie and this one would be a strongER hold-and likely just enough for me.
The wax is soft, yet holds well. After a day on the beach, it still holds. The scent is very faint. I know it says unscented but with coconut oil and lanolin, and being right under your nose, you have to expect some scent.
I only wax and shape my mustache every 2 to 3 days, partle because my forst wax was stiff and had a fragrance. I really like how soft this wax leaves my mustache. The other was I had didnt do that and left my mustache feeling coarse.
this is a good mustache wax. It has a good amount of hold and I really appreciate that it has no added scents.
It is not as strong of a hold as Firehouse, but it is stronger than most others I have tried. I plan to use this wax as an everyday wax and only use the firehouse on days that I need or want to create a more extreme handlebar mustache.
I had gotten this for my grandfather as a gift. The kind of wax he used previously would not let his mustache hold after a short period of time. This gets the job done! As a grandfather who likes to always work out in the garden during the summer. This wax held up even for hours! He told me he would definitely buy again!
Awesome! I've used pomade on my 'stache in the past with greasy, unpleasant results. The first time I used Lucky Franc's my mustache looked better than it ever has in the past. I liked it so much I tried a dab on my sideburns and eyebrows, very clean! I'm a Lucky Franc's man now, if I could get my pit-bull to sit still I'm going to try it on him next (just kidding). It get greasy only if you really overdo it, and even then it's tolerable. Happy waxing.

PRO TIP: Use a hair dryer on low heat to slightly soften the wax before application. Using the back of your finger nail helps to scrape the wax out of the can. This is a firm wax so rubbing the wax between your fingers before applying will also make it a little soft to work with.
It's the best one I've tried so far but then again I've only tried about three. Last a good amount of time and I'd take the slight hint of coconut smell over others.
Stole this from my Son when I grew a Handle Bar. With Franc's I can curl, or run out wide or in a swept back fashion. I will get another when this gets low. Nice to have a 2.0 oz tin for the price most charge for .5oz or .75oz
Seems to be a fine product provides good hold. Takes some effort to make it soft enough to use but makes it worth the effort for the long lasting hold.
Its a two edge sword. If u need a stiff wax -well it means it takes a lot to work it in. Pleased,but it takes a good bit of work.
Just what I needed! It really did the trick for me and it only takes a very small amount to get my coarse, long, mustache under control. Long lasting and well worth the cost, I will buy it again.
