My hair is tightly coiled, color treated,very thick and thirsty. I read on natural hair care websites, that natural hair should use sulfate free shampoo. So, I started researching, and came across the Design Essential products. I tried the shampoo, for the first time on 7/22/17. My hair was soft and I could run my fingers through it, after one shampoo. Also, I experienced alot less breakage. Glad I tried this product for my hair.
This is just an unequivocal MUST for any care regimen. DE's products are solid quality. This conditioned my scalp (I didnt expect it to) and every strand of my hair without ever being over wet or over oily. When it dries completely absolutely NO residue. Day 2, my hair is still moist even if it may need an extra boost from some other product that helps it shine. I find that after finishing this bottle the health of my hair improved. Definitely lovely for detangling and accenting curly coils - but that's what it advertises. Yes, it does as advertised. What I am telling you is that this Design Essentials product has done MORE than its promised to my hair. It lasts long and stopped breaking. Leaves no residue on my hair. Completely detangles. Even if you love some other product, I'd tuck this in my closet for those days when you need a broad spectrum product all in one treatment. Sometimes Oldies are the Best Goodies. Older company but still innovating and effective. I'd give it 20 stars if I could....
I was hesitant to buy this product due to the cost and the fact that I normally use kiddie detanglers. This product was great and I recommend it because when I used it on dry hair, it did not flake. I purchased it because I recently started using this line of products, specifically the coconut and monoi milk and gelee. The smell is amazing. I have very thick, curly mixed hair that tangles easily [mostly because I don't comb thru and tie up my hair most nights] I saturated my hair with this and waited about 15 min. I was able to brush thru my hair with a detangling brush. The product gave great moisture, no flaking, great smell and added shine. It absorbs well, which is important to me because I hate the transference onto my pillow and therefore my face. I would highly recommend this product. I will not go back to the kiddie detanglers.
This stuff makes my hair so soft and manageable! I went natural several months ago and couldn't seem to find anything that worked right with my hair until someone told me about this product. I have sense then decided to go ahead and relax my hair, but I still use this product. So it can be used on natural or relaxed hair.
This leave-in conditioner tops them all. I have tried Cantu, Shea Moisture, Garnier Fructis, African Pride, and Creme of Nature. I have 3b/c curls and my daughter has a head full of 4c curls- very thick! This conditioner is great because it smells good and is an excellent detangler. It does not leave your hair feeling greasy. I love the way this product smells, consistency, and it’s a good detangler. The consistency is kind of watery, but not too watery and it feels weightless in your hair. It smells amazing, and I can smell it in my hair all day! Also, I take forever to comb my hair so this works well with my hair in detangling.
The only con I have is that it’s almost gone after a couple applications, so I need a bigger bottle.
Overall pleased and will buy again!
I would categorize my hair as 4C and have been wearing my hair in it's natural state for almost 2 years. I've tried ALOT of products, probably spent hundreds of dollars trying to find products that work best for me. This is one of the best products I've used- there is no white flaking whatsoever. It dissolves in my hair. Highly recommended.

LOVE THIS PRODUCT! The texture is great, the smell is awesome and I love that the bottle notes what types of curls it works best for...I wish more "curly" products did that!
Best hair products I used since going natural in 2016. And I have tried them ALL. This product has cured dryness completely. I can feel the moisture and softness after I rinse the shampoo out and the leave in conditioner seals the deal. After using the conditioner I only need the shake my 4c hair to get defined natural curls.
