Great warmer! I love a warm shaving cream shave in the winter months and this fits the bill perfectly! I love the way it fits my size of cream and very sleek design. I get tons of compliments and questions and it definitely is a conversation starter when guests leave the bathroom. Everyone loves the item and asks where I got it!
Pros:
- Who doesn't love warm shaving cream on their face on a cold blustery morning?
- Great design and sleek look
- Nice indicator light feature
- Heats up quickly. I can brush my teeth and my cream is ready!
- Price! While shopping I noticed that some of these warmers are $100+. This is a great buy for under $30!
Cons
- I think the cream could be a little bit hotter. Don't get me wrong its very warm but sometimes I want almost scalding and want that option. I know, I' weird :)
About 2 years ago I converted to a safety razor with the brush and shaving soap method of shaving. For about a year I only used the brush and shaving soap and what I noticed is that if I didn't take a long shower to help soften my whiskers, shaving was uncomfortable and usually painful. During the week, and especially at night when I usually didn't usually shower beforehand, I recently started using Barbasol aerosol shaving cream and almost all of the pulling and tugging has stopped.
As for the hot lather thing, I am sure that it is a personal thing but I missed the warm lather from the brush shave so I purchased the conair hot lather machine. I tried it for the first time today and I have to say iit definitely is a nice experience (not too hot yet warmer than body temperature). It was also easy to control and It didn't make a mess at all. Obviously I have only had it a day, but I think it is well made and conair also makes my hairdryer and I have had it for over 10 years. The bottom line is I love how I can hit the ON button and have warm shaving cream after washing my face. It is a nice way to begin or end a day, and I think it was great money spent.
Works great! My previous one worked well for over ten years, but recently failed. I was so happy to find it available here AND to get it so quickly.
I missed the very-warm gel lather and the ease of one-handed operation. Has a one-hour timer built-in so i turn it on, have some coffee, then shower/shave and its ready to go! Highly recommend it.
This is a great little heater for you lather or gel. It is very simple and gets the lather very warm if you turn it up. I did notice you must make sure you turn the temp selector in the correct position to really heat up the lather.
I purchased this same thing on Sharper Image many years ago for my husband as a gift. It was starting not to heat as well, so I checked Sharper Image. The total price, with shipping, was almost $50. That seemed a bit much, so I located here on Amazon. Same exact item for much less!! My husband and son both love using the warm shaving cream year round. Makes the shaving experience so much better. Give it a try and you'll be glad you did. Makes a great gift for those hard to buy for guys in your life!

Description
The Conair Gel and Lather Heating System instantly heats your favorite shaving gel or lather to provide a smooth, close and comfortable shave. The variable temperature control preserves consistency of gel and it features a ready indicator light. The gel nozzle easily dispenses. Hot lather not only gives you one of the smoothest, most comfortable shaves you've ever had, but one of the best. Hot lather softens whiskers so that there's less irritation during close shaves, less tugging and pulling, just a smooth, close comfortable shave.
This inexpensive devise can make your shaving experience more enjoyable and give you a better shave. I usually shave with luxury shaving creams (Truefiitt &Hill, Geo F. Trumper and the like) and brush. There are occasions though when I don't have the time for the pleasurably laborious process of generating lather with a brush. When those circumstances arise, after experimenting with numerous brushless and canned shaving creams, I use Noxema Sensitive Skin canned shaving foam which I found to be while not at all glamorous or luxurious in presentation and scent a superior performing shaving cream that is also very inexpensive. This product can alone produce a shave that can rival some of the better known brands of luxury shaving creams. n comparison I found every highly advertised gel or "just apply the size of a dime" brushless shaving cream to be inferior and at times worthless. However favorable the performance of the Noxema applying the lather cold makes the use of it less pleasurable than it could be.
The Conair system heats up the lather making using it more comfortable and helps to soften the beard. The system works flawlessly. Simply follow the instructions. Some reviewers have complained that the lather is just a bit warm, not hot. When the light indicates "ready" this is true, just wait a few moments longer and the foam will come out hot. Also first dispense a bit to remove the tepid portion. There is an automatic shutdown so don't let it warm up too long or you will need to begin again.
I found the heated lather to improve the performance of a already well performing shaving cream. I highly recommend this surprisingly inexpensive product that will be a boon to your pleasurable shaving experience.
I had been looking for a hot lather dispenser for a good price. The price on this one was great, but there were a lot of reviews that said the lather wasn't hot enough (I don't use gel). Sure enough, when I started using it, it was barely warm. What I found out was that dispensing the lather too fast doesn't give it enough time for it to get warmed by the heating unit. My solution was to slowly press down on the top until the lather was barely coming out of the nozzle. This made a big difference. The lather still isn't as hot as I'd like it, but it's as good as heating the can with hot water in the sink. I'm guessing that the manufacturer keeps the heat down due to a concern about law suits from users that might get burned.
Well I have been shaving for over 40 years, and I used to buy these in the department stores, then they just disappeared I just figured they stopped making them. Then I saw them on Amazon and I ordered 2 just in case they did another vanishing act. I love these things! My facial hair is kind of tough and the warm lather really helps. I have read some of the negative comments and from what they wrote, it sounds like they just didn't use them properly. I would definitely recommend this, and would buy them again for myself or as a gift. The ONLY negative thing I can say, and why I gave only 4 stars is that it doesn't work as well with gel as it does with foam, and I prefer gel.
This item properly heats shaving cream (I haven't used it for gel) to a nice temperature for shaving. While some reviewers complained that the heated foam didn't stay hot very long, and blamed the unit, this is just another example of people not paying attention in physics class. The foam is mostly air, and it easily gives up it heat (heat transfer) to the surrounding ambient air. A more viscous fluid would hold the heat longer, but then this isn't really the goal. The goal is to provide warm foam to the face to loosen whiskers better than ambient temperature foam, and this certainly does the job. This unit replaced a similar unit that I had for over 20 years, which these same reviewers would have criticized for the same reason.
WE'RE MARRIED 50 YEARS AND MY HUSBAND HAS ONLY HAD TWO OF THESE. . . THAT'S HOW LONG THEY LAST!
WHEN WE WENT LOOKING FOR A REPLACEMENT RECENTLY, NO ONE KNEW WHAT WE WERE TALKING ABOUT.
IF THEY DID, THEY DIDN'T HAVE IT ANYWAY! ARRIVED IN ONLY ONE DAY! FOR THE MAN WHO HAS EVERYTHING AND
SHAVES WITH A NON ELECTRIC RAZOR, HE'LL LOVE IT!
