This is a fantastic Straight Razor, a lightweight-perfectly balanced-handle and medium sized blade. If the handle is too heavy you could cut yourself and if the blade is too big it makes it hard to shave around those corners.
Hreat razor my husband loved it
Wasn’t shave ready but most aren’t but put it to my 3k/8k then to the strop and now cuts hair without touching skin. Haven’t used it yet but have no worries it will do the job. Beautiful razor with a little weight and nice firm pivot pins.

It is a thing of beauty. Well worth the price. I don't have much experience but I don't think it was necessarily shave ready as advertised. I was able to shave well enough, but the process came with tugs and uncomfortable glances here and there that I don't normally experience with my other (lower quality) straight razor. Could be me adjusting to the new blade. It's much heavier than what I'm used to; I love that.
No worries, though. It was sharp enough to do the trick and it's not as if you should send a blade back just because you need to pass it on whetstone or strop before the next shave. I see a few fools in these sections starting as much. Shame on them. Lazy bastards.
It looks pretty nice but was dull as dishwater out of the box. No amount of stropping was able to sharpen it and I had to use a ceramic sharpener to set the edge. However, once I did that and ran it across the strop about 20 laps, it cut the hair off of my forearm like a hot knife through butter. Will be testing on my face tonight. We'll see if it holds an edge. It seems to be of high quality; but you may need to invest in a whetstone or other sharpening device.
UPDATE: It still wasn't sharp enough and I had to invest in a $12 sharpening stone. I used the stone to get it as sharp as possible and stropped it a few times. Took the hair off of my neck under the chin and then lost it's edge. So I stropped it for about 50 more laps and it held it's edge to give me a fine, complete shave. The key is getting that razor edge and then stropping liberally and correctly before and after use. In conclusion, it's a great product; but you'll need to put the time and effort into getting it functional. It's a great razor for beginners like myself. Don't send it back because it's dull and isn't working. Half the fun is getting it functional and maintaining it. IMPORTANT: throw that leather travel case in the garbage. It will tarnish the metal very quickly.
